RUMOR: Marvel's New BLADE Movie Will Focus On The Daywalker's Daughter

Though it's been delayed, Marvel has a new Blade comic in the works featuring the the original Daywalker's daughter, Fallon Grey. Now, a new rumor suggests that there is also another Blade movie planned, but it will focus on young Miss Grey and not her vamp-killing daddy...

When we found out Marvel had regained the rights to the Blade character, excitement began to build about the possibility of seeing another movie or a TV series featuring the popular vampire-slayer. Wesley Snipes even hinted that he'd been having discussions with the studio about reprising the role, though in later interviews he seemed to play that down - maybe because he was told to?

Bleeding Cool has heard from a "well-connected source" that the Marvel higher-ups have begun to take notice of the popularity of the character, and see the potential in producing another big-screen outing... with one twist: the site also hears that it would be the new Blade, Fallon Grey, that the movie would focus on. In the new comic series Fallon's father is also a prominent character, so there's every chance Snipes really is in talks to return in more of a secondary, mentor-like capacity.

Nothing concrete for now, but what would you guys think if this came to pass? Any casting suggestions for Fallon? Sound off below.

I think she'd do better with a show. Maybe John Ridley is working on this.

A passing of the torch movie...

I'm not against a female Blade, but I would like to see Wesley Snipes do a new solo Blade movie before they bring in Blade's daughter.

I'm not sure if this is true. They won't do a daredevil movie but they'll do a Blade movie? Which usually needs a rated R slapped on it(This can be worked around). I don't know, bottom line it would be cool but I prefer a T.V. show. The one way I would like it to happen is if it lead to a Midnight Sons movie. That way we can see Ghost Rider done right, and with actual good special effects because the alternative is T.V. and I imagine it would be quite difficult to pull off on a small budget.

Oh lord no. Sounds like Blade for the Twilight generation. Stick him in a Netflix show and make it similar in tone to the criminally underrated 2006 series.

Please no! Let the teenie girls have divergent insurgent hunger games twilight disney princess live actions, but please don't ruin Blade with a teenage girl!
If theres anything Marvel listens to me on please be a Night Stalkers movie or netflix show. Don't mess up the Blade property with crappy new character.

Nobody want's a pg-13 Blade movie about his daughter or w/e. Just let the Blade franchise die since Wesley looks too old anyways

Oh this is crap. You have a great character in Blade but they decide to set him aside & make a female Blade, his daughter no less the main focus. Impossibly stupid idea Marvel. Yet one more reason comic books are in the worst state I've ever seen.

I could use some vampire-slaying in my MCU.

Throw in some MCU cameos, like Strange, and color me interested.

Reminds me of Ant-Man in the sense that it too had a mentor-student plot line. But I'm not sure how i feel about this. I'd love a Blade movie/tv show but I'd like to see the original Blade.

Blade should be done via Netflix. I don't think there's any room on the movie slate, unless they make it into a low-budget ($100mil) movie outside of summer.
