Artist Stephen G. Wells has posted the following concept designs for some of the DC characters that would have appeared in the cancelled Justice League video game to his website. We have Batman, Bane, Batzarro, Bizarro Superman, Eclipso, The Flash (Barry Allen), Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Solomon Grundy, Jay Garrick, Batman (Alex Ross' Justice series), Mongul, Sinestro, Talia al Ghul, General Zod, and Morgaine le Fey. There's also some new footage from the game, which features a battle between two iconic characters that will soon clash on the big screen.

this games looks horrid the backgrounds don't look that great the character models look like they've seen better days and the gameplay is something we have seen before

I think it had potential. Remember that we're seeing some very early material here.

A way for a game like this to be successful would be to emulate something like Marvel Nemesis, which is a classic 1v1 3D arena fighter.

If they're a bit more ambitious and take advantage of the power in next-gen consoles, they could go for something like a grounded and detailed version of the new DBZ games. The DBZ comparison is chosen because of the verticality of those games, and the seamless transitions between ground and air combat (as they are one and the same).

Would love for some more superhero games but this doesn't particularly look impressive, so I guess it is good they cancelled it.

Sadly, the videogame costumes weren't the same as the would-be film's. I'd do criminal things for more glimpses of those.

Is it too much to ask for a game that isn't a fighting game? Despite the fact that injustice is great i would love to play other kind of games with this characters

I love how people with no knowledge of how video game are made say this is crap. Lots of games look like this in the beginning. There's a reason no developer likes to show prealpha work. I'll say if people saw what many of their favorite games looked like in early development, they'd be shocked and call them crap.

I like how the villains aren't the ones most people would want in the game. Seeing Morgaine is cool and I wish DC would use her more.

Some of these designs are pretty tight - specifically Bane, Mongul, and Zod. However, creepy smirking Batman doesn't do it for me (and I don't mean the guy on the right).
