SPIDER-MAN Director Seems To Hint That 'Miles Morales' Could Appear In The Reboot
We know that our new Spidey will be Peter Parker (Tom Holland) but is there a chance Miles Morales could also show up in Marvel and Sony's Spider-Man reboot? Director Jon Watts' gave a very interesting response to that question when it was put to him by Yahoo Movies...
When it was officially announced that Marvel and Sony were going to team up to reboot the Spider-Man franchise (again), rumors began to circulate almost immediately that they were going to go with Miles Morales - the former Ultimate version of the character who recently took over as the Webhead in the Marvel Comics universe - and not Peter Parker for the lead.
Well, obviously that didn't happen and Tom Holland was cast as Parker, but is there any possibility Morales could also feature? When Yahoo Movies asked director Jon Watts (Cop Car) whether there were ever any serious discussions about choosing Miles over Peter, here's what he said.
"I can’t talk about that, because, you know, that will reveal too much. We're still writing the story…we haven’t finished all the way through the story yet, so who knows."
Not exactly a direct hint that the character will appear of course, but the "that will reveal too much" is definitely an interesting response, as one would assume if there was nothing to this that Watts would simply deny it outright. There's a very good chance Marvel and Sony are going to want to do something quite different with this new movie to set it apart from previous entries in the series, and what better way to do that than to add another Spider-Man to the mix?
