The Gambit movie may have lost original director Rupert Wyatt, but if one of the guys said to be in contention to replace him gets the gig, Channing Tatum and Fox will have landed on their feet.

Heroic Hollywood has heard that in addition to the previously reported Doug Liman, Shane Black and Joe Cornish are also on the studio's radar to helm the X-Men spinoff. Black has directed many fan-favorite flicks, most recently Marvel's Iron Man threequel, while Cornish has also worked with that studio as a writer on the Ant-Man screenplay. Since his acclaimed debut, Attack The Block, he's been lined up for several other big projects, but never landed any - could Gambit be the one?

No mention of any talks taking place, so it's possible these are just the directors Tatum and co. have in mind. We'll keep you updated, but for now let us know which of these three you'd most like to see bring the Ragin' Cajun to the big screen for his first ever solo movie.
