UPDATE: JURASSIC WORLD's BD Wong Joins GOTHAM As 'Hugo Strange'
We've known the classic Batman villain was due to make an appearance on Fox's Gotham for a while, and now we know who'll be playing him. BD Wong (OZ, Jurassic World, Mr. Robot) will bring life to the sinister psychiatrist. UPDATE: Nora Fries has also been cast.
It seems we're about to get a small-screen incarnation of one of Batman's oldest foes on Gotham, as Comicbook.com reports that BD Wong (last seen in Jurassic World as Dr. Henry Wu) will portray Professor Hugo Strange on the show.
This take on the character is described as "a brilliant professor and psychiatrist tapped to head up Gotham City’s notorious Arkham Asylum. He’s hired to help the city’s criminally insane, but Strange has a nefarious streak as well." Apparently the good Doctor will be the one revealed to be conducting experiments on inmates with a view to creating supervillains for Indian Hill: the underground facility we saw Firefly (Michelle Veintimilla) taken to after her battle with the GCPD saw her engulfed in flames.
We're not sure which episode Wong will make his debut in, but it will be a recurring role. Gotham returns with "Mommy's Little Monster" next Monday on Fox.
UPDATE: Following the news that Nathan Darrow will play Mr. Freeze, Zap2it reports that Being Human actress Kristen Hager has been cast to play his terminally ill wife, Nora Fries.
