It seems even if Noomi Rapace does return in some capacity, Alien: Covenant is to have a new female lead. According to Deadline, Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice, Fantastic Beasts and where to Find Them) has been cast in Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel as a character named Daniels. No other information is provided, but it is mentioned that she'll be playing the lead.

Plot details are also under wraps for now, but it's believed the plot will focus "the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet, who discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise but is, in fact, a dark, dangerous world, the only inhabitant of which is David (Michael Fassbender), the “synthetic” and survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

Expect casting announcements for some of the other crew members soon, as Scott is apparently gearing up for an early 2016 shoot in Australia.

it's crazy how fast you can go from wondering how she looks naked to actually knowing how she looks naked

"Waiting for an Asian to get cast. Might be a couple 50 years."

You know there are asian movies which feature exclusively asians right?

You might wanna check some of those out.

Or on the other hand, you could keep bitching about minorities not getting equal attention as the majority. Which is statistically unreasonable, but whatever right? As long as you can feel self-righteous.

Ridley Scott is super hit or miss, but I definitely felt like Prometheus was more hit than miss.
For me, at least. I didn't love it, but I liked it.

It's been so long since I've watched Prometheus, haha, I kind of want to watch it again. The Martian is one of my favorite films this year though.... I hope Ridley keeps the streak going

And I have the right to point out that if only 5% of the US population is Asian, there will be very few asian actors in big budget movies. Not because of his implied racism, but because of statistical occurrence.

http://www.statista.com/statistics/270272/percentage-of-us-population-by-ethnicities/

Same goes for black people. If 12% of the population is black it means you're going to have less black people becoming big actors than the 62% of people who are white. It's not because the white man is keeping them down.

Less asians, less asian actors, less exceptional asian actors, means very few get cast. That's why a lot of big asian actors are imported from outside the US.

Simple as that.

Actually I didn't only attack him. I tried to explain why asians get cast less often. Then I called him out on his self-righteousness. If that's an attack, then yes, I attacked him. I hope he'll be able to get over it. It must have hurt so bad.

Pitch a movie for her character after what happened in Prometheus.

That movie ends with her and a busted up David heading for the engineers home planet. She is committing suicide. I dont get why people didnt understand that.

She knows the engineers will kill her in a vicious way on sight. Even if she somehow managed to safely land on their home and repair David during the voyage then she is dead, they would kill her. That is assuming she survives the journey. Remember, in the Alien franchise you need cryo chambers for long space voyages. Unlikely that there is a cryo chamber made for humans on a engineer ship. She died.
