A trailer for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot can't be too far away, but in the meantime here's a brand new image from the movie featuring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones marching into battle as our new team of phantom-wranglers. EW also have details on the specific type of spooks the gals will be taking on.

"Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot," claims the site. "Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth."

Erin Gilbert (Wiig) and Abby Yates (McCarthy) are a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. A few years later Gilbert lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University, but her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. Gilbert reunites with Yates and others when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.

Ghostbusters hits theaters July 15, 2016.

I just wish they had a funnier cast of women. Kate McKinnon is fine. I would've loved to see her with these three women:

Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson

Kate Micucci

@ComicsBornAndBred

Yes!!! The only problem is that they don't have the starpower. As awesome as that would've been to see, the film would most likely flop.

Generic Gangster Ghost villains? Zzzzzzzzzzz, if they were gonna do that they should focus on a famous female killer like Jack The Ripper, not generic ghosts...They need to start using the bad guys from the cartoons if they are really trying to build a Ghost Buster Universe. Boogie Man was an amazing villain. These images they have released look good though.

@YeezusWept I know but I'd like to think it would've help them rise to superstardom, like GOTG helped Pratt do. Ghostbusters is a substantial franchise where its name will general viewers.

I love those three actreses. Hilarious! To be real, with this notable current cast, this film could flop still. If it does, its gonna be a big problem bro

Here is how I would have done female Ghostbusters.

Main Cast:Emma Stone, MINDY KALING, Sarah Silverman, & Lupita Nyong'o

Supporting: Adrian Lester(British Detective), Damian Lewis(Jack The Ripper)

Director: Josh Whedon(Yes he burned himself out on Avengers 2, but he can write great dialogue for female characters.)

Concept: A group of college professors careers are ruined after a failed experiment to prove ghosts are real. 5 Years later they may be the only way to stop the ghost of Jack The Ripper.

Nothing about this movie has me excited, and it has nothing to do with gender. Even if it was the same cast of women but taken place in the first Ghostbusters Universe and it was a "passing the torch" movie, id be excited. The design of everything in this movie has me cringe. The uniforms clash, the red and orange look stupid next to eachother. The proton packs look aweful, especially with the pink heart on it. Ecto-1, the metal trim on the side goes right over the logo, what idiot approved that let alone the rest of the car. This photo looks like my grandma photoshopped it using Windows Paint. And the biggest flaw? They have the entire original cast (except for Egon and Louis) in the film playing different characters. So when you see Bill Murray Dan Aykroyd and Erie Hudson all you're gonna think is "why aren't they Ghostbusters? The name of this movie is titled Ghostbusters, yet they aren't Ghostusters?" This movie is going to flop, and it makes me sad because I want to see more female driven movies.

I really like all of these actresses individually and am looking forward to seeing how they play off each other. I don't have a problem with the cast or the story, but I'm still wary. This whole thing just reeks of "cash-in" banking on franchise recognition. I'm afraid we're going to get another Robocop/Total Recall p.o.s.

I miss Harold Ramis and the other OG GhostBusters... Bill Murray went from my favorite actor ever to I like him but he's a moody alcoholic jerk uncle who I'll watch but I'm disappointed in his life decisions. Like uncle Gusto.

So they were riding in the Firetruck and one side was heaviest then it tipped over?

Sure will go with that part of the comedy.

It doesn't bother me that things get rebooted. I don't even care how a reboot compares to the original. I just want it to be entertaining.

Increasingly, even supposed bang, crash, rollercoaster ride movies are boring. All of the little things are missing just to provide a swing from one crazy moment to the next. As a Pro-wrestling fan I would pretty much say that everything is going WWE. It spends more time trying to shock you and manipulate your emotions with crazy things and does the opposite. The Terminator reboot, the Star trek sequel and yes even the Star Wars sequel. The Star wars and terminator especially hit the one and done spot for me,with no interest in ever seeing them again.

I hope this Ghostbusters thing is awesome and funny and enjoyable but with what is coming out lately,I doubt it.

I'm starting to realize less is more after going on a binge of Daredevil and Jessica Jones recently. These big overstuffed productions just aren't doing it anymore.

It's not about the size but the motion of the ocean,Hollywood.

It will do ok, but not great. 600-700 million worldwide, if it's lucky.
