Jesse Eisenberg Says 'Lex Luthor' Is "Like A Real Scary Person" In BATMAN V SUPERMAN

Revealing how his Lex Luthor will compare to Gene Hackman's portrayal from the classic Superman movies, if at all, Jesse Eisenberg talks here about reading the comics in preparation of Dawn of Justice, and why he's glad he didn't do so beforehand. Check it out after the jump!

Over the weekend, Jesse Eisenberg attended the New Yorker Festival where he briefly discussed his role as Lex Luthor in next year's hotly-anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Obviously, the Academy Award-nominated actor could not divulge any plot details, but he did share how he prepared for the supervillain role,  how his portrayal will compare to past iterations, and a bit more.

In preparation of playing Lex Luthor, Eisenberg says he read up on some DC Comics featuring the Superman supervillain. However, The Social Network star reassures that he was not a comic book reader prior to the role, and that might have been helpful given he wouldn't be that "obsequious comic book fan" who was "too excited to stop smiling" while shooting the Man of Steel follow-up. Regardless, Eisenberg was pleased to have an abundance of source material to look through.

"There is this trove of stuff about this guy. A lot of it's repetitive, like he always winds up on the roof of his building giving some faux benevolent talk about how he's going to change the city," he said. "It's fun to take that campy cartoony stuff and try to put it into a real person and try to reconcile the two." Eisenberg also reassured that his portrayal of Lex Luthor won't be anything like Gene Hackman's in the original Superman movies because Dawn of Justice is "so different ... it has real psychological underpinnings, and this movie character feels like a real scary person."

Hopefully we can agree with Eisenberg in six months when the movie opens. What do YOU think?

Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before. Starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, and Holly Hunter, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio from David S. Goyer's screenplay, and is scheduled to open March 25, 2016!

I really really can't believe how much I like this casting thanks to the SDCC trailer considering how much I hated this casting. Heh if any of you were on IGN or SHH when they announced Jesse was Lex, you'd know how angry I was. Hell even WonderFilledOreo tried to talk sense into me. I called Jesse as Lex the worst casting ever and now I'm eating crow (not that he'll be the best casting ever but no longer the worse).

Still I feel he will nail Lex. One thing I really like about Jesse as Lex is he likely won't wear his power suit which is beyond [frick]ing stupid. Lex and Superman's relationship has always been brains vs brawn so giving Lex a power suit just dumbs down Lex's brains. Hell Superman The Animated Series never had Lex in his power suit and look at well praised that is.

I loved that shot of him in the trailer giving a smirk and Superman with that look like "hope you got neck insurance, you're gonna need it".

The red capes are coming was the worst line I've ever seen in a trailer.
Since the beggining I thought it was a bad casting but wanted to him a chance but everytime he says something he sounds a little arrogant to me.
