Marvel Considering Filming Captain America Film in UK

According to a tweet from an Operator of Independent Studio Services, Marvel is considering filming in UK.

Here is the tweet:

"Marvel films is considering filming Captain America in the UK, WTF!"

Well, we already know some filming will take place on a stage in Raleigh Manhattan Beach Studios. I'm sure its just one of the many locations where the film will occur, considering the president of Marvel, Kevin Fiege, stated that "The First Avenger: Captain America will be one of the most International films, Marvel Studios has done".

This also sheds some light on the fact that we'll be seeing James Montgomery Falsworth a.k.a Union Jack, in the film. I would love to see Wentworth Miller tackle the role.

Hey they filmed BATMAN and SUPERMAN an STAR WARS movies there, so why not???

After all, if most of it is gonna be in WORLD WAR II, it makes more sense to film it in EUROPE??!

Where the actual [frick]ing war took place!

It makes sense for them to shoot more around the world. They've said a large majority of First Avenger is going to take place in WW 2, so it's logical to film overseas.

I'm sure they'll have the beginning scenes which show Steve's recruitment, and transformation set in the USA, then, for most of the remaining length of the film, keep it on the front lines in Europe.

Damn right ukboy. The wait is killing me.

I mean, I'm sure they must know that Matt Damon should be Cap by now. He's so fit for the role, he couldn't have gone unnoticed. All we really need is an announcement of Damon as Cap and we have ourselves a movie ;)

tyler@ me to, i mean we get loads of news on thor, trailer for im2 but where's the captain america love lol i havint actually picked anyone for captain yet, im undecided on his casting, dont get me wrong he's a awesome actor and with him bulking up for his new movie he's kind of got the frame but im not sure??

ukboy: Well, Johnston didn't come on board for full production until October, so First Avenger got a late start since Branagh started on Thor a while ago. The announcement is coming though, I can feel it :)

But it probably won't be until around January :(

got snow down my ends i nearly fall over walking down the streets cause there is lot of ice on the ground.

i saw that Daybreaker poster today that freaked me out first time i saw it anyway it looks sick cant wait to see that movie. been along time for a good vampire movie to come out.

jazz@ i nearly went head over ass yesterday walking home from work but rains started now so hopefully it ill be warmer than the past few days :)

and me second, i was talking to dogsofwar about daybreakers the other day, the cast is awesome and the few reviews ive read have all been positive, the last decent vampire film was 30 days of night so hopefully this will be just has good.

I agree Matt Damon would be great. I dont see what the big deal is with it being in the UK. It makes perfect sense actually. They are over there fighting WW1 and 2.

I understand the arguement that the film should be shot where the wars were, but if Cap was on the front line, why would it being shot in the UK have any baring on that? My memory may be pretty hazy after a big night last night, but I'm pretty sure that we didn't get invaded during either of the world wars...

Oh, and picking an American actor to play an English lord? not cool... ;)

Wow, I hope this means we'll get to see Union Jack!

I doubt we'll see Namor (because his riughts are owned by Universal arent they?) and I'm not sure who owns the rights to Toro and the original Human Torch as Fox has the rights to the current one but I'd be happy just seeing Cap fighting alongside Bucky and Union Jack (and maybe Spitfire as well!)

It should definitely be a Brit that portrays the character though, and I cant think of anyone better than my original choice Burn Gorman! :)
