Special thanks to @_NerdyGeek_ for the heads up!

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for release on May 2, 2014!

No one ever mentions Spiderman 2.1 its so much better than the original theatrical cut so thats a good point...its funny Raimi said he cut out alot of those scenes because they didnt test well with the audience that screened it...i wonder why

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Transformers: Age of Extinction are going to probably be the highest grossing movies of 2014.

Anything can be better than spiderman 2. Last time I checked I went to cbm's not to see a soap opera im sorry. If im not mistaken this is the first spiderman movie without vanderbilt as the sole screenwriter. This will be amazing! Motha [frick]in pun intended!

@TheBlackNerd

I agree. It seems to me that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 can be the best Spider-Man film yet, and it just has a perfect storm going for it. TASM2 has easily the best marketing campaign among blockbusters this year, followed closely by Captain America: The winter Soldier.

I have a feeling this will be the most amazing year for Spidey in the recent years, pun most definitely intended. May couldn't couldn't come here soon enough, I'll probably go for TWO sessions in a roll, if they have midnights like they did for The Avengers in 2012.

Does anybody have the gif where Spidey is at the Super-Market and sees Uncle Ben's rice and starts crying?

The first movie wasn't as bad as everyone says. I didn't find it awful but my only problem is that I just can't see Garfield as Peter Parker. He looks like one of the cool guys, not like a nerd.

The good thing about TASM is that we finally got too see the funny part of Spider-Man, which was my only complaint for Raimi's trilogy (ok that and Venom!). But even though Garfield is Spider-Man, he isn't Peter Parker.

Again, that's just my opinion!!!

@Jollem I don't know, maybe. But I still can't imagine a boy who is as handsome as Garfield is a nerd and is being bullied. Even when he is wearing the glasses he looks like a [frick]ing supermodel! I still prefer Tobey as Parker, maybe with less dancing and crying. But Andrew is better as Spider-Man.

this could be like spiderman 3 all over again but we'll have to see what happens

@Doom really? I can understand disliking TASM (I disagree, but I understand) but you can't compare it to Transformers! The Transformers franchise is one of the biggest turds in Hollywood! Every Transformers film = Teen guy lusts after girl based purely on looks, giant robots fight, explosions, fast cars, lots of really crude sexist and racist jokes.

IMO
Garfield physically fits the role of Parker better than Toby.
Garfield's interpretation of Parker is better due to his ability to talk as though he were too smart for most conversations/incredibly nervous around women.
ASM is a better interpretation of how Spidey fights and moves in most comics(Movement less stiff)
Spider-man obviously had the stronger villain in it's first outing.
Spider-Man also has the stronger story

We're incredibly lucky to see two different runs of Spider-Man on the big screen in such a short span. Most heroes will never even see the light of a camera.

I remember seeing too much of the first movie before it even came out. I think that's why I didn't enjoy it that much....now that I literally forgot how most of the scenes went in the first movie I'll probably enjoy it even more now. Now what needs to happen for this movie is no more footage.... Maybe one three short tv spots but that's it.....no more footage....I want to be surprised after watching this movie

@Jollem Ok, maybe TASM2 will make me change my mind! As for X-Men Noir, I have read it but I found it kind of weird. It was cool but my favorite with Dark Phoenix will always be The Dark Phoenix Saga. I cry every time I read this one! They aren't writing comics as good as that anymore...

For me, I just hope it is better than The Average Spiderman, because that is what I thought of the first one. Just average. I don't think it sucked, but I was disappointed overall in it. It will be cool to see some good villains in this one, though I don't care for the mechanical take on Rhino, especially when you have Paul in the role. We shall see.
