THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Prepares To Celebrate The New Year's In Times Square

ABC News reporter Sara Haines interviews (and apparently flirts) with The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Director Marc Webb in Times Square, where Spider-Man will be celebrating the New Year's eve. Check out the video after the jump.

Here's an interesting Marc Webb's quote from the interview:

(In The Amazing Spider-Man 2) Spider-Man is having a blast being Spider-Man. He is going to have to face off against not only the wrath of OsCorp, which is a big villainous corporation, but Electro, which is one of the most cinematic villains from all the Spider-Man canon. He is played by Jamie Foxx, which is unbelievably awesome. That battle is really gonna be his greatest battle like it says in the poster and Peter Parker will never gonna be the same after this movie.

Check the full interview in the video above for some really cool tidbits from what is arguably the most anticipated film of 2014. A countdown for the New Year's Eve Times Square event can be found in the Enemies Unite, one of The Amazing Spider-Man 2's viral websites. So in New Year's Eve, tune in ABC and prepare to be AMAZED! Official Synopsis:
"We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp."

The Amazing Spider-Man's greatest battle begins in May 2nd, 2014.

Spider-Man is okay as a superhero I find him a bit annoying at times! However he does have a cool rogues gallery and I hope they include Kraven the Hunter in a future film!!

"and Peter Parker will never gonna be the same after this movie."

That happens a lot in comics. Things "will never gonna be the same".

The best way to deal with types like DrDoom is ignoring them. True Marvel Studios fans are Marvel Comics fans at heart, and they can see an amazing take on a Marvel character when they see one.

TASM2 is shaping up to be THE superhero film of 2014, and I'm confident it has potential to become the best Spider-Man film yet.

You know, Amazing Spider-Man DOES look like the highest-profile superhero movie coming out next year (if not the highest-profile movie, period)... but it's not my most anticipated. It's close, but not quite.

If I had to rank them (because of COURSE I'm going to rank them), my most anticipated films of next year are:

1. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST
2. Amazing Spider-Man 2
3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
4. Interstellar
5. Guardians of the Galaxy
6. RoboCop (more out of morbid curiosity than any hope that the film will be good)
7. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (YEAH, I SAID IT)
8. Transcendence
9. Jupiter Ascending (Again, morbid curiosity)
10. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (new creative team makes me leery, so if it's good, I'll let it sneak up on me)
11. Godzilla

... And I don't really care too much about the rest (Transformers can go suck a spark plug, and Hunger Games I'm only tangentially interested in thus far... as rentals, anyway).

But one way or another, I think Amazing Spider-Man 2 is going to recapture some of the fun and the spectacle of the first two films-- it really looks like this time, they have their hearts in the right place.

The first Amazing Spider-Man was okay, but they were trying WAAAY too hard to be "Spider-Man Begins", giving us unnecessary new wrinkles to the character's origins (that they never even bothered to resolve) and making him too brooding and tormented. With this one, while they're obviously building off of the story threads from the first film (and, from the looks of things, paying 'em off in spades), they're also making what looks like an old-school Spidey adventure (albeit with questionably redesigned characters).

I really hope this film brings Spider-Man back to the kind of popularity he had back in the early 2000s-- before Iron Man stole the hearts of audiences from under him, and Batman came back to score all their cash. Spidey is almost entirely responsible for the comic book movie renaissance we have today, so it'd be nice to see him back in the big leagues again.

@ Tyrus

I could have not said it any better myself, all the Spider-Man movies have missed the mark for me and ever moreso this reboot which the character of Peter is not the one I wanted to see or relate to at all. Give me the Spider-Man 60s show, the 90s show, hell, Nicholas Hammond, those felt like Peter Parker to me.

"Peter Parker will never gonna be the same after this movie."
They filmed Captain Stacy who was fully with blood and cuts(dead Captain Stacy in TASM 2). Gwen Stacy wears clothes that she wore in Comics.
Clearly, Gwen Stacy dies, then Peter Parker remembers Captain Stacy promises and after that Peter Parker is changed man.

Don't like anyone hijacking traditions to sell something.
What's next? Ads on a vagina?? Or an ad on a nice ass?? Commercial breaks during sex? Incredible that hasn't happened yet.
