It looks like the rumor we published couple weeks ago, regarding Marvel cancelling avengers Earth's mightiest heroes tv series in order to replace it with another Avengers cartoon, is pretty much confirmed.

According to a forbes article, detailing Marvel's 5 year plan of avengers media, the comics company is planning a new Avengers TV series to premiere in 2013 (Like we reported) on Cartoon Network.

The article does not mention the cancellation of the current Earth Mightiest Heroes show, but it would be pointless to have two different Avengers cartoon on two networks. which pretty much confirms that the current (awesome and great) Avengers cartoon is, unfortunately, a goner.

From the forbes article: " To that end, Marvel is introducing digital initiatives, new print and comic book titles, and The Avengers animated TV series on the Cartoon Network in 2013."

The article was later updated to remove the "cartoon network part" changing the sentence to: " To that end, Marvel is introducing digital initiatives, new print and comic book titles, and The Avengers animated TV series on the  in 2013."

Whether the show will air on Cartoon Network (unlikely) or DisneyXD(more likely) remains to be seen, but regarding the show itself, however, we were able to get some insider's info that you might want to take with a grain of salt. So, below are some key features of the 2013 Avengers TV Series:

- The show will start with the movie line-up. Which means Iron-man, Cap, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye and widow.

- The show will be sharing the same universe of the current Ultimate spider-man cartoon and the upcoming Hulk Agents of SMASH.

- Ant-man will join the team later on the series.

- The animation will be a big selling point for the show. and will be made by MAS (the newly formed Marvel animation studio)

- The show will not be a continuation of the current Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

- One of the big villains of the show will be Thanos, in order to promote the character for kids since he is rumored to feature in the second avengers movie.

We will keep you posted as soon we get our hands on more fresh info. Until then, i suggest you go watch and enjoy the Avengers more hitting theaters in few hours :-)

Ugh bad news but maybe it will be more like the cinematic universe which would rule.

Why are they ruining such a good thing. DC should make Marvel animation and Marvel should make DC live action. Everyone would win and this world would be a much happier place.

Stupid to cancel a great, successful show for something unproven. Leave EMH for the older fans, and let the younger fans have US-M and this new Avengers. UGGGGhhh!! So frustrating when they try to fix something that ain't broke!

Marvel Animation is a mess, first they Cancel my favorite animated show of all time Spectacular Spider-Man now they end another series at the begining of it's second season. Frick Marvel Animation. I don't even watch Ultimate Spider-Man it's a joke, a kids show.

Young Justice is the only animated show I'll be watching now.

Of course. Why not cancel great cartoons like Spectacular Spider-man, Wolverine and The X-Men and Earth's Mightiest Hero's and replace them with generic kiddie friendly crap?

I wouldn't count TA:EMH out, just yet. This show would be cancelled for sure, if the new Avengers cartoon was set to debut on Disney XD. But since it is debuting on another network, there is more leeway.

They would be making a lot of money by keeping one show on Disney XD, and debuting another on Cartoon Network, which has only broadcasted DC shows up until this point.

Another thing is though, the new Avengers show might not survive in a line-up mostly composed of DC animated shows. And they could have TA:EMH to fall back on, if they have to cancel the 2013 Avengers cartoon due to low ratings.

CANCEL Ultimate Spider man bring back Spectacular and keep Avenger EMH and have those 2 in the same universe.

Thats what I think They should do for the marvel Universe

Unless if the do 3 things

1. Change the voice of IRON MAN(to the guy that was his voice in EMH
2. NO IDIOTIC HUMOR LIKE THERE IS IN ULTIMATE SPIDER MAN
3. AND BRING BACK JOSH KEATON

This is not fair. If this is kiddie like Ultimate Spider-man this going to be stupid. Sorry Marvel. Bad move. They could write in Thanos easily in EMH. No need to do this whole thing of trying to be like the movie except oh it's a watered down version of the movie... why can't we have something giving a new twist on stuff. Marvel this is a bad move and if you do this I am not going to like it one little bit. So keep EMH on the air just put Thanos in it. And stop making Ultimate Spider-man. Just make a New Avengers show with Spider-man in it. That would be perfect they could even go further into the story lines left over by EMH. They could do Inhumans, FF, X-men, and Guardians of the Galaxy shows too. That would be awesome. :D So do this right Marvel. Nuff said.

THIS IS BULLSHIT! Im a 23 year old guy who loves Earth's Mightiest Heroes & otherwise, I have no time for cartoons. I love the show because it reminds me of the great cartoons I used to watch back in the 90s when I was a kid. It is an actual intelligent show for kids which is still a lot of fun

For goodness sake, I have a friend the same age who hates cartoons and comics of all kinds and I showed him Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and we ended up watching 20 episodes in a row!

If this gets cancelled for a dumber Avengers cartoon, it just shows how dumb kids are today when they need a stupid Ultimate Spider-Man-type show with idiotic humour & crappy storylines

SO A MAJOR [frick] YOU TO MARVEL IF YOU GO THROUGH WITH THIS CANCELLATION. I will only be sticking with your movies in future

I'm still taking this with a grain of salt. Until Jeph Loeb goes out and fully admits Avengers: EMH's cancelled, I'm still skeptical.

I get the feeling that all this means is that Thor will lose his helmet and change his boots, Hawkeye will lose his costume and Ant-man and the Wasp will mysteriously disappear to be replaced by Black Widow. Probably the same creative talent, at least I hope. Oh yeah! and the Black Panther will go from being a one dimensional character to being a no dimensional character.

this is actually a smart move on marvel's end, disney is to PC and kid friendly with it being on cartoon network
they can get away with much more like the JLU, wich means they can kill more and show blood without all the whiny phags crying all the time

@Pux You are overreacting.

There's no reason to call him an asshole for his understanding of this article. I agree with what PatientZero says, I won't believe any of this until we see the actual article.

I've also read you're posts on other articles Pux, you come off as a rude, dogmatic person who needs to learn to calm down.

People crack me up on here. Did you read the biggest part of the news?? Marvel built it's OWN Animation studio. Loeb said the have a studio on Disney's lot.

Now that means no more relying on Film Roman or crappy Lionsgate for production help. Cancelling those shows means Marvel can stand on it's own.

Spectacular Spidey was Sony. The rest are with partners. That was the problem with Wolvie & The X-Men. Plus if you research Film Roman-Starz Studios they been on the selling block for almost a year.

Let's say Warner Bros. or FOX bought them Marvel would be SCREWED!! Since the Disney merger Marvel being trying to go in-house with everything. Can't make an omellette without breaking a few eggs.
