Spider-Man: 1980s Movie Trailer

From the people who brought you Superman IV: The Quest For Peace comes this mind-numbing trailer for a Cannon Spider-Man film from the 1980s. Ah, to think of what could have been!

my favorite thing about this piece of "news" is that it's not interesting at all.

Frick those gifs, Tea! LMFAO! I love the one in Sucker Punch the most! LOL!

Oh yeah, Spider-Man 1980s. I loved these movies for the era they were released on. Couldn't get enough of them. Nicholas Hammond is excellent as Peter Parker.

But for this era, Spider-Man 2 is THE $hi+!
And then there's Spider-Man 3...
LOL!

Nicholas Hammond starred in a CBS series in the 1970s. This Cannon film was something that was supposed to be made for theatres, but the company went under before they ever got it made. Obviously we're all better off for it.

@shaman - Cannon had the rights to Spider-Man but thankfully it was never made. This is an excerpt from the wikipedia article concerning the first draft:

"In Stevens's story, a corporate scientist intentionally subjects ID-badge photographer Peter Parker to radioactive bombardment, transforming him into a hairy, suicidal, eight-armed monster. The human tarantula refuses to join the scientist’s new master-race of mutants, battling a succession of mutations kept in a basement laboratory."

Luckily Stan "The Man" Lee put the kibosh on that. The story changed a few more times into something that sort of resembled Spider-Man. Thankfully this abomination was never made.

None of this early Spider-Man stuff compares with the Electric Company (collender eyed) Spidey that use to air complete with balloon dialogue captions. Classsic! And I couldn't wait to get home from school to see it. =D

Probably still would've been better than the lame ass Sam Raimi franchise.

Cannon's Spider-Man would have been another low-budgeted cheese fest, but it probably would have made some money for Cannon simply due to it being Spider-Man.

I assume The Green Goblin would have been the villain, since his likeness was essentially slapped on the front of a diesel in "Maximum Overdrive"!

@Shaman: What Tea said.
@Tea: Was it the seventies? Dear God, I'm old!

And yeah, actually, TV stations in my country at that era sucked epic ice that not much got in for me to watch. I was lucky enough to be able to watch the original Star Trek, Lost in Space, The Lone Ranger and Rin Tin Tin, but that's more or less about it.

So I actually watched these TV movies in the theater. I didn't know nor give a frick about TV movies or feature (thetrical) films at the moment, but those Spider-Man movies were a dream come true for young me at that moment.
