Spider-Man Joins the Fantastic Four

There is no more Fantastic Four, so just what is the FF? This March, the superstar creative team of Jonathan Hickman and Steve Epting present the over-sized FF #1, introducing the biggest new super hero team of the century!

After the death of the Human Torch, the surviving members of the Fantastic Four—Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman & Thing—join with Spider-Man and some top secret members to form an unstoppable force: The Future Foundation. Their mission is simple: save the Marvel Universe from its greatest threats and prevent future dangers from arising. But even with knowledge of what’s to come and one of the most powerful teams ever assembled, just what villainous force could stand in their way?

“FF will alter the very fabric of the Marvel Universe,” explained Tom Brevoort, Senior Vice President of Publishing. “Jonathan and Steve have crafted a unique, powerful new series that’s going to surprise a lot of fans with its combination of mind-blowing ideas and visuals.”

The perfect jumping on point for new readers, FF #1 begins a battle for the future of the Marvel Universe unlike anything you’ve ever seen before and no fan can afford to miss it!

Wait isnt he in the avengers also ? I wonder if Marvel is intertwining all their characters to muddy the waters so to speak and make it unclear who owns the rights to what .

I LOVE THE NEW SPIDERMAN SUIT! but, umm.. i dont like that he is in the ff now? well as long as it is just a team and he helps them now and again because spidey is a solo hero!

I like the new suits! The Fantastic Four need a shot of adrenaline. And this looks like it is. Spidey's suit looks pretty sweet.

should have made them all more like Spidey's...it's really simplistic but great imo.....not digging the Thing in a tank top.

Spiderman in the FF has been a really long time coming. He tried to join in the early days, but they turned him down (though there's a What If? comic where they accept him that ends with Sue leaving to be with Namor I think).

Let's face it, we were PLENTY to have called it.

That suit looks CLASS!!! And i'm actually likin' Thing's tank top too!!! Much better than the boyshorts he has on the other cover.

Thermal underwear?! Don't like it at all... Spidey looks like an alien and Thing's outfit looks like a gym-outfit.
To change things might be a good idea, but this....

I dont like it, the suits look stupid and If I were Johnny's family, I don't think I would ever be able to smile again. Why can't the FF just go back in time or screw with the space-time continuem to get Johnny back

Spider-Man on the Fantastic Four team? Well, it actually makes sense considering their past history together.

A great choice...Spider-Man is becoming the new Wolverine though, lol! :P Not a bad thing as he's my favourite comic book character however. Costume is pretty cool.

kinda wish they went with another thermo flyer like Shiro, Firestar , or Magma- but interesting. They need a smart ass to get in Thing's nerves.

Spider-man and the Thing just hang out all the time. FF, New Avengers. I Spider-man's involvement in all these teams starts to have more of an important affect on ASM. Big time started off pretty well. I'm not saying that I want other characters in ASM all the time, but it might be cool to have him hang out with some of them as recurring members of his supporting cast.

Anyway, getting more on topic. I think this is an interesting new direction for the team. I just don't think that the Fantastic Four is going to be gone forever. I'm not really a fan of the series, but the team's pressence has alwyas felt like a significant part of the Marvel Universe. I hope some day, after the right amount of time has passed, we'll see the revival of Johnny Storm and the Fantastic Four in a great story. It seems almost inevitable.

To me, this is definitely the best Spider-man suit i've ever seen. EVER! I wouldn't be angry one bit at him never going back to wearing red and blue. Webb should have used THIS instead of making the red/blue outfit his own by putting [frick]ing garters on it.

Stumblin- IMHO, the design art looks better than BOTH covers.

Bearing in mind that the first time we ever saw Spider-Man he was trying to join the F4, I think this is quite smart.

they messed up on the second pic, look at spideys right legs, he's missing the half black pattern on the bottom of his foot and back of his legs, at least he is when you compare to the other picture....and on the first on they messed up on the white angled lines on his left bottom foot, i think. i'm not sure about that one, but the first one i am.
