From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team--the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits--Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand--with the galaxy's fate in the balance. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, which first appeared in comic books in MARVEL SUPER-HEROES #18 (Jan. 1969), stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Nova Prime Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. James Gunn is the director of the film with Kevin Feige producing, and Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jeremy Latcham, Alan Fine and Stan Lee serve as executive producers. The story is by Nicole Perlman and James Gunn, with screenplay by James Gunn. Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" releases in U.S. theaters on August 1, 2014.

I completely don't mind her makeup, since I think the yellow would be a little cheesy. I think it looks great, and her outfit is a great twist on her original costume. She's one of my favorite characters in the film design-wise.

Out of all the things said or heard about the film, some-how an addition of yellow would come off cheesy?

That right there, excellent characterization. We have another win for Marvel. I can't wait.

I'm liking her outfit for the Guardians of the Galaxy, I just hope that in the sequel or her future appearance that she gets her current outfit. Now that's an awesome costume IMO.

In regards to her outfit and look. I'm sure they tried several variations, once the art book comes out... we will see them all. They probably settled for the one that looked the best in real life, with the consideration of how it looks on film. its part of the creative process... the folks at Marvel know what they are doing. Cant wait for this film.

EVERY goddamned time I see another one of these trailers...

I just get more and more and more excited.

Especially that extended trailer that gave us parts of the "fake laugh at twelve percent of a plan" argument.

I know this is going to be my favorite comic book movie of all time, and that says a lot, knowing already it's gonna top Avengers.

More and more, it's looking like cracking a new Marvel Cosmic Universe annual.

And that's as goddamned cool as goddamned cool can possibly be.

And the Marvel Cinematic Universe can only get better and better from here on...

But, PLEASE, don't send the Hulk into space until the entire Avengers story is complete, THEN do Planet Hulk AND World War Hulk, if we have enough superheroes to make it worthwhile.

@sameoldthing: Thank the gods, because I HATE Frankentits!

I love Zoe Saldana just as she is.

And, you know what is really cool?

I look at Gamora, and listen to the character, and I do not see, nor do I hear, Zoe Saldana. I do not hear, nor see Lieutenant Uhura. I do not see, nor do I hear, any of her former characters.

And I think that demonstrates the lady has some acting chops.

But I think Rocket Raccoon is gonna be a household name because of this movie, and the banning of Rocket Raccoon merchandising from schools across the nation is gonna cause a HUGE outrage.

An angry, smart-assed raccoon with a HUGE gun and a love for making bombs.

HOW is today's audience not going to fecking eat that UP?????

Zoe Saldana is thinner than Gal Gadot!
If they're saying Gal is not right for Wonder Woman, then Zoe is much more NOT right for Gamora!

Gamora uses a sword as her primary weapon. A sword is a heavy weapon, not believable that a thin woman can carry a sword.
She's also described as deadly, enigmatic, and the most dangerous woman in the galaxy. Zoe's Gamora do not look like one.

This is GAMORA!!!

... and this is WONDER WOMAN (New 52).

Not much difference right there!

:-P
DeusExSponge
DeusExSponge - 7/10/2014, 12:17 AM
matthuliz - I believe it's because Gadot is set to play Wonder Woman, that's the stigma right there. One of DCs holy trinity and quite possibly the most prolific super heroine of our time. She's as strong as Superman and even more skilled in combat, that's why most people believe that Wonder Woman should be a bit buff and have more definition in her muscles. Gamora doesn't have the same privilege when it comes to fame and thus doesn't get the same criticism, although Zoe does get criticism for her make up. It's a double standard situation IMO, but that's my two cent.

BIGBMH
BIGBMH - 7/10/2014, 5:50 PM
Being green, it's very clear that Gamora's physiology is different than that of a human so she doesn't need to look very physically imposing for us to believe she's capable great feats of strength. Because Wonder Woman looks human, I think there's more of a justifiable desire to see her appear more physically powerful to set her apart. Amazon has even come to be a slang term for a large woman. Therefore, an actress with a thin build is probably not a satisfying choice for Wonder Woman to many people. It's kinda like the Brandon Routh situation. Routh was in great shape as Superman and its not like Superman's strength comes from being bulky, but Routh was still of a more slender build than how a lot of people wanted to see their Superman.
