TV Guide has a bit of intel on the show's Amanda Waller (played by Spartacus alum, Cynthia Addai-Robinson) from show executive producer Marc Guggenheim. "This will be the proto-version of Amanda Waller, who is not yet the head of A.R.G.U.S," revealed Guggenehim. He continue, "One of the things we'll be exploring is: What is this organization? What do they know? Who are they working with? We've got a couple of surprises up our sleeves about that. We just started talking about something that actually won't come into play until Season 3, but is a pretty exciting way to use Amanda. Once she gets promoted, she's going to start stress-eating." Good news for fans that assumed we were getting the New 52 version of Waller.

On the Speedy/Red Arrow front, E! hears that Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) and Arrow (Stephen Amell) come to an understanding fairly early on in season 2. Reportedly, by the end of the second episode, Roy and the costumed Oliver Queen reach an accord of some sort. Perhaps, he agrees to start training him or to use him as an informant? We'll have to wait till next week to find out for sure.

Tvline has a few soundbites from the other executive producer on the show, Andrew Kreisberg on the addition of Sin, played by The Killing's Bex Taylor-Klaus. "If the Arrow has Roy [as a potential sidekick], then Black Canary (to be played by Caity Lotz) has Sin." If you're up to date on your DC Comics lore, you'll know that Sin has ties to Lady Shiva and the League of Assassins. It appears the role of Sin was originally going to be a quick guest spot but those plans have changed as Bex has impressed. "Truth be told, we were thinking of killing off [Sin] quickly but now that we have Bex, we’re keeping her around," said Kreisberg. Laurel (Katie Cassidy) is also said to be entering the vigilante fray this season but not necessarily as a costume crimefighter. Instead, she'll be more determined than ever to bring Arrow to justice as she blames him (and the Dark Archer) for the death of Tommy (Colin Donnell).

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

Imdb also has listed the Dark Archer for episode 3 and if you click on it, it goes to a page with the Vortigan character from Smallville instead of Malcolm Merlyn.

Very good but not good enough for the silver screen. Keep this away from the MoS universe by any means necessary please and thank you.

But that preview clip did look pretty good... I may have to watch this season and reevaluate my opinion.

No-no! "Arrow" (and "Flash" and "Amazon") MUST be a mart of "Man of Steel" universe and modern DC live-action MovieVers! Only this way! Only 1 universe for TV and big screen!

Funny how people are comparing the quality of this to Man of Steel. Because Man of Steel was so much better than this?

"It's just that sir I think he's kinda hot"
"They say it's all downhill after the first kiss. I think that's a human rule"
"What if I need to take a tinkle"

Haters can STFU. Mix this with the cinema universe

I liked S1 of Arrow but the finale is on a whole different level and just ups the quality of the show. Can't wait for S2 and here's hoping it'll be better.

Bring on ARROW !!
And keep the SHIELD bashing somewhere else- both shows are their own thing and at least SHIELD is advancing the Marvel timeline. WB and DC need to come right out and say whether or not Arrow is connected...but they won't because they know there will be an uproar over The Flash going to tv and not getting a movie and the stupidity then of having 2 versions of the Flash.

Bring on ARROW !!
-after all she has been thru with the HOOD(god change that nickname)Laurel is going to blame him for the events of last season? weird.

This season sounds promising, as long as they leave the House Wives of Sterling City drama alone. Hey I like drama real drama, I'm done with the soap opera bull crap. If they keep that Nolan style of universe I'm out.

This show is great. Connecting this universe to the DCCU would be cool. It would also be tricky as hell (timeline stuff).

Arrow has some cheesy dialogue, yeah. But it's great. Season 2 is going to rule.

You know if you compare Arrow season 1 to Batman Begins, it's an complete parallel. They both are gone for along period of time from civilization. Honing their skill of combat and un-detection from their master soon to be enemy. Both are looking for vengeance for the death of a parent/parents. From mysterious vigilante to earning the trust of a straight forward detective. Even the idea of using a device to destroy the city/ghetto cause the people that live there represent the wrongs of the world. And setting up a revenge plot for the child of the main villain. So who going to be Arrows season 2 Joker?

Hey do not spoil season 2 for me! And no it will not be the Joker but the Riddler!

I think "Arrow" is more than quality enough to be part of the DCCU. I enjoy "S.H.E.I.D", and it's not as good as "Arrow", and still part of the MCU, so I don't see a problem. Only good will come from ONE universe.

If you make a live-action TV show about superheroes, aren't they just setting themselves up for failure from the start?

Flash
Smallville
Arrow
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

They'll never understand that people want animated action, not a cheese-fest soap opera.

Hmm... I wonder if Amanda Waller's going to be an action-oriented character before her big promotion? You know, to have her sort of in-line with Nick Fury?

I liked the idea of bringing Waller into the DC cinematic universe (the way Fury was brought into the Marvel one) when they featured her in Green Lantern. It could've been even be potentially more interesting, since rather than being the unflinching advocate of the superheroes, Waller could represent the government resistance to the idea of superbeings-- the shadowy spook who pries into their existence as best she can.

But then Green Lantern bombed, and that idea went right out the window. So at least she's on Arrow now.

@EtriganTheDemon: If you were gonna bash live-action superhero T.V., why include The Flash? That show barely had any soap opera tendencies, and it was awesome! But then, I would categorize Arrow as awesome, too, so obviously we have very different tastes. (I, for one, do NOT want animated action. I don't care for cartoons.)

... Also, can't speak for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. yet, but yeah, Smallville was pretty awful after season three, and Birds of Prey was borderline unwatchable. Not to mention Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman-- now THAT was some full-on soap-opera cheese!

Also, as far as the "shared universe" stuff goes, it would be pretty gutsy to develop a cinematic universe that's heavily informed by a television series, and not the other way around. After all, nothing like that has ever really happened before with a mythology this big; it feels like they're deliberately trying to one-up Marvel Studios' shared cinematic universe by assembling a shared multimedia universe. It's kinda like what Ron Howard was talking about doing with the Dark Tower books. I don't quite know how I'd feel about that...

... But considering how well Arrow is handling the development of its little corner of the live-action DCU so far, I don't think I'd mind too much if it was carried over to the big screen!

Since I consider "Arrow" excellent, I am content with that.

Arrow is basically Batman with a bow & arrow. He's a rich kid that dresses up as a crime fighter who has a sidekick (Diggle)and a secret lair and tries to save his [FRICKED] up city. If this show was Batman everyone would say put it in the same universe as MoS. He's the same character, he just happens to kill his bad guys.

WruceBayne - 10/9/2013, 1:02 PM
I think that Arrow and Flash will be inter grated into the MoS universe at some point. That Gotham city show that showcases a young Jim Gordon on the fox network won't make it pass the developmental stages. It's ridiculous to have a show named Gotham City with no Batman in it.

I love how its acceptable for Oliver to kill criminals every episode but Superman can't off one alien without someone bitching.

Say what you will about MOS and Arrow. But the main reason that Arrow NEEDS to be connected to the MOS universe is because Arrow is setting up the universe faster and far better than MOS can do right now.

And it's doing that while maintaining a good story. The only thing separating MOS and Arrow is that one has a higher budget. Goyer isn't a cinematic genius and neither is Snyder.
