In episode 14, two new recurring characters (S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents) will make their debut. One, a combat/weapons specialist and the other, a "high-level" munitions expert with past conneections to Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Ward (Brett Dalton).

TV Line has the scoop that two new S.H.I.E.L.D. agents will be reporting for duty in the shows fourteenth episode. The site reports:

Episode 14 will introduce two recurring characters: an African-American agent who specializes in combat/weapons, and a high-level S.H.I.E.L.D. agent/munitions expert who has past ties to both Coulson and Ward.

Th next episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the tenth. That one features the return of Mike Peterson (J. August Richards) who is now a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent (really, didn't he murder someone in cold blood?!). We've also previously seen the debut of Victoria Hand (Saffron Barrows). Will these two new Agents be original creations for the show or will they be based on characters from the pages of Marvel Comics? If its the latter, I know quite a few fans wouldn't mind Clay Quartermain being one of the Agents.

Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson's team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage; Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), expert pilot and martial artist; Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), brilliant engineer; and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker, Skye (Chloe Bennet).

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel’s first television series, is from executive producers Joss Whedon (Marvel's The Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, who co-wrote the pilot (Dollhouse, Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along Blog). Jeffrey Bell (Angel, Alias) and Jeph Loeb (Smallville, Lost, Heroes) also serve as executive producers. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television."

As long as Simmons stays, then I'm happy.
She's awesome. She's extremely pretty, beautiful and is very smart.
Also, Elizabeth Henstridge has shown her talents in the FZZT episode. She gave a heartbreaking performance

Yeah, Victoria Hand needs to appear more and definitely be more bad-ass and she needs to wear a nice pencil skirt.
Also, GIVE HER A GIRLFRIEND.

People saying please kill Fitz/Simmons are really annoying.
See how ou feel AFTER you've gotten to know them. It's a brand new hw by people whose track recod is to develop characters slowly and then make us all love every single one of them like they were actually real people.
Besides I love Fitz/Simons, already. The jock guy whose actually a bit of a pussy? Not so much, but whatver. I'll end up loving him.

But really, on a news day like today, this is the best that Disney/Marvel can do?
Really?!

Man, for all the people who bitch about this show: isn't it better to have it on and be mediocre than have no show at all?

The show keeps getting better. If you didn't like the first five episodes, give it another try.

CherryBomb@ Yeah, FZZT was where it suddenly turned into a real show, for me. I was left utterly breathless, by the end.

new creations….. AWFUL!!

bring in some Marvel characters to bring in more viewers… i dont think Marvel realizes it. these little easter eggs to the Marve Cinematic Universe isnt going to cut it. need established marvel characters to make it good.

@DukeAcureds- I have gotten to know them. They are childish, immature, and they are both living embodiments of what is wrong with this show.

The only episode I liked with them was FZZT, but even that was ruined that cop-out ending.

@DukeAcreds

I agree. That's the emotional potential of the show so far and it was handled well.

And by the way, keep in mind that Simmons is still infected with the Chitauri virus...Ward is permanently infected with the Asgardian 'Berserker' affect as well.

Maybe the guy that's related to Coulson and Ward is Wards long lost brother Tony Masters AKA Taskmaster???

I agree!...if you're talking about the liberal use of its comic book source material and over arching stories and not the shit romance and soap opera drama lol

I enjoy the show, but hope to see soon Mockingbird (my dream cast for this is Yvonne Strahovski) and Taskmaster. Also, it would be cool to see USAgent (hell, I would KILL to see US Agent played by Adam Baldwin).

They've even, kinda got the same archetypes as Firefly. And they fly around on a plane. Anyone notice that?

Awesome news! Loved this show since the beggining, and it's only gotten better. Adding two new members does make things a little crowded, so we might see if Jed is a grim reaper like his brother.

I'm calling this
One of them is Akila with the Xray eye.
The other is Ward's brother... possibly Stewart Ward from Spider-Man.
