Luke Evans (Fast & Furious 6, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug)
spoke to Red Carpet News TV at the 2014 British Academy Film Awards and touched on the upcoming reboot of
The Crow:
On the story and fan expectations.
We just want to be as authentic and loyal to the original comic and that means the story will be different. It will be different [from] what people are expecting. It's not about ripping off the Brandon Lee movie. That stands alone as a piece of brilliant cult film and a great performance. But we're going back to the book, the original book and that's exciting because we're bringing to the screen a lot of parts of the story that were never really told. It's our chance to do it differently, but as loyal and respectful of the original storyline as we possible can.
On putting on The Crow makeup and costume. Is he looking forward to donning the iconic look?
It will be interesting won't it? I don't know how it will feel. I have yet to think about that too much, I'm just prepping, it's all very physical at the moment.

Luke Evans will star as the titular protagonist. It's rumored that Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) and Kristen Stewart (On The Road) are also up for parts. Francisco Javier Gutiérrez (Tres días) will direct the feature for Relativity Media. That original comic book was first published in 1989 by Caliber Comics. James. O'Barr stated that he wrote the comic as a way of dealing with the death of his girlfriend at the hands of a drunk driver. O'Barr is aboard the project as a creative consultant. |
