But also I like the new Light saber its unique and the sound it makes is fuccking awsome yea the extra sabers are a bit weird but it makes sense that when dueling you can do the little twist of the wrist and cut off somones hand. this looks like you can prevent that with this new weapon. mabe hes had his hands cutt off in a duel and has pros arms or hands? I dont know I just think this is what star wars should have been the whole time. It LOOKS great. just hope all the story rumors are false. a secluded skywalker would be retarted and a plot about some kids returning skywalkers saber is also dumb. hopefully they did the right thing and made a new republic and order of jedi. THATS what everyone wants to see. dont let Luke's actions and Anakin's sacrifice in the original trilogy be just a waste.

@WishYouWereBeer:

Also, re

"3. In the close-up of Daisy Ridley's character "Kira", she has a long rifle strapped to the side of her swoop bike/transport, but when the camera pulls back for a wide shot it mysteriously disappeared. C'mon J.J., you're better than that".

.........

It's because the 2 scenes are clearly not concurrent and do not follow one another, the footage has just been cut that way for the teaser trailer. (At least I hope thats the case because if not that is one almighty balls-up because it is clearly on her left-side).

I am also interested in the equipment (weapon?) strapped down to the speeder. Look at the end closest to her body... that is clearly a lightsaber hilt in black.

Anybody else notice the Lightsaber-esque handle on Ridley's stick? It disappears in the next shot.

@ TankD

A few things:

1. The lightsaber. I don't know why its getting hate. The two extra blades can act as a hand guard, which is something just about every real sword in history has. This is something no lightsabers have a hand guard on the hilt as they would just get cut off by the person they are dueling. I think its a cool idea. Also, people have said the user could easily cut off his own hand, which is completely ridiculous. There's a reason only force users can weild lightsabers. Its because they have an added awareness of their weapon. A lightsaber's blade is pure energy, and weightless. So it takes that extra awareness to "feel" where the blade is while fighting. Imagine using a sword and the only weight is in the handle. You would constantly be hitting yourself with it. There's no way a jedi or sith would accidentally hurt themselves with their own weapon, lol.

2. I actually like the idea of Luke being in seclusion. If you think about it, he never really had anyone to fully train him. Yoda showed him the bare minimum, agility, lifting small objects, etc. But Luke left after only a short time and then Yoda died before he could teach him anything else. So basically, Luke has had to teach himself these things, so if he has become very powerful, which we all know he is, then I could see him having trouble controlling his powers. Imagine trying to teach yourself something with no teacher, or guide, or instruction manual. It would be nearly impossible. I understand Yoda and Obi Wan could be helping from beyond the grave, but I still find it hard to believe that that would be as effective.

3. New Jedi Order. I'm on the fence about this. It would be cool to see, but at the same time, the idea of Luke not being in completely in control of his powers is a bit interesting to me. I don't think he should go to the dark side, as he's seen and learned better than anyone what happens when you turn to the dark side. But not being fully in control of his powers could be cool. I read a rumor that when Vader through Palpatine down the hole, that Palpatine transferred his consciousness into Luke and is trying to corrupt him. The good guys are looking for Luke because they've learned that the Sith are back, and the sith want him to try and resurrect Palpatine. This could explain the Sith Witches rumor. I would be okay with that story.

4. The rumor about the kids finding Luke's severed hand and lightsaber is just ridiculous and idiotic.

I've got you both beat.

Avengers: Infinity War trailer and no Ant-Man or Fantastic Four trailer?

@SimyJo

Great idea! Fits the look of it for sure! It could easily turn out to not be a lightsaber of sorts but its fun to speculate. If you watch the trailer its not there when she takes off on the speeder, so it ain't part of the vehicle. There was rumours of the film opening with a lightsaber falling to a planet (probably no true)... maybe she finds it? MrSunday does speculate that she might salvage wreckage.

There is absolutely no way that's gwendolyn as the sith in the woods. Doesn't look like her body frame whatsoever!

Technically, Luke would still have been able to be trained later on after Yoda's death by Yoda's or Obi wan's ghosts.

@Corndog... Three things on the saber...

1) The guard on swords is to protect the hand, yes, but he design of this saber protects nothing. If that is the alleged intention, then those small blades that pop out should come the same place where the main blade emerges, with no metal between the main blade and he guard. How that would make sense is beyond me, but with this design, an opponent could hit the area between where the small blade emerges and the Handel, which is all metal, and easily cut through the metal. Point is, this set up make for a lousy guard. I'm hoping there is a better use for them.

2) Not every sword in history has a cross bar guard. There are many that have little to no guard, and they are too many to list, but Lucas was influenced by Asian (mostly Japanese) style, and most of those swords have very little handguard.

3) Many swords feel weightless, and you don't need the Force to not cut youself with them. Having only held katanas and European broadswords, I wa in total disbelief when I first held a properly balanced rapier. Rappers, épées, sabers and the like are balanced to so that the weight is in the handle and the blade is thin and light. You can move these swords with blinding speed and precision (with lots of practice). They really feel like they have no blade. Very cool.

In conclusion... I am not a fan of the blade if they intend to use the "guard", as we are calling it, to prevent a lightsaber from chopping off the user's hand. I hope there is an alternate use.

@corndog... Sorry that sounded kinda bitchy. I just like sword design a lot. :)
