Why SPIDER-MAN Back At MARVEL Sucks (Potentially)

I understand everyone's concern, but this is Marvel we're talking about... they are not going to let anything bad happen.

I don't think Spider-Man going back to Marvel sucks.

It's more the direction of Spidey going back to Marvel and some of the Sony films.

I don't like Spider-Man in Civil War. At all. He shouldn't be in it. If you are going to do High School Peter Parker, you can't have him in Civil War which took place when Spider-Man was 25ish and have the same impact. You can't. He shouldn't be in it other than a cameo for taking photos for the Bugle.

I don't mind a reboot film. I think the best direction, and I can't believe I'm saying this, is to kind of look at Dan Slott's Learning To Crawl Spider-Man story.

It wasn't an origin story but the story started off right after the death of Uncle Ben. Maybe that's the best place to start a Spider-Man film. Start with Uncle Ben's funeral maybe. We've never seen that. I don't remember Raimi doing the funeral. I mean we saw his Peter visiting his grave a couple times but no funeral.

Start the film with Uncle Ben's death, you already have Peter with his powers, him wrestling, and start from there.

Now with the SONY issue. I just don't like the fact SONY is doing Spider-Man spin offs not connected to the films. Sure they aren't connected but when you see Spider-Man with Cap and Iron Man and then you see a film with Doc Ock and the Sinister Six or Venom and you know they are Spider-Man villains, the GA will think they are connected to the new Spider-Man films which means connected to the MCU even though Marvel isn't involved at all in the films.

Goddamnit Feige, bitch slap Amy and tell her if she's going to do spin offs they must be connected to the MCU and find ways to connect them. It's likely Sony has the Spider-Woman rights. I mean yea Spider-Woman has no connection to Spider-Man but when you think of how long ago Marvel gave the rights to Sony, they might have included Spider-Woman rights in it. Black Cat was first in a Spider-Woman comic and SONY has Black Cat's rights so maybe they have Spider-Woman's.

Hell maybe do an Anya Corazon Spider-Girl film down the line and maybe Agent Venom but just not yet.

Also since Season 2 of Daredevil will likely come out in April next year. I need this to happen.

And maybe one day in the future....

It's funny. I hate Superior Spider-Man but damn those covers are awesome. I can't hate on them. If only they were of Peter and not Ock in Peter.

Also this is my 2 cents on that Green Goblin suit debate.

THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH RAIMI'S GREEN GOBLIN SUIT

Let me explain. Name me all the comic book villains who wear a rubber mask. Think about that. I can't name barely any who wears a rubber mask in which his mouth is covered like so:

Dr Doom wears a metalish mask:

Black Mask wears a wooden mask:

Scarecrow really just wears a scarecrow material type mask:

The problem with the Green Goblin is the dude in the comics wears a full on rubber face mask and for some reason his mouth will move like he wearing makeup.

Yes Raimi did try. Now concept art is one thing. That's [frick]ing drawings. The only thing that matters is this:

The problem with this. Producers at Sony felt it was too scary and I believe Dafoe couldn't breath in it. The mouth would move robotically and not because Dafoe was talking organically.

Now some people say Green Goblin looks like a Power Rangers villain. I say how is his look any different from THE BIGGEST AND PERHAPS GREATEST VILLAIN IN MOVIE HISTORY IN DARTH VADER????

any different than this?

Now let's look at Raimi's. Overall while he didn't look 100%, the Goblin at least felt like he was the Goblin in the comics. Green Goblin is meant to make Peter's life a living hell. After their first meeting at the parade, everything the Goblin did was to make Peter's life a living hell.

Attacking his boss and the place he works out

Attacking Aunt May

Kidnapping MJ

Now last thing, let's look at Norman Osborn. Dude owns a billion dollar company that does all types of military stuff and some people complain about the Goblin suit and glider coming from Oscorp. Because it's not like superheroes who own billion dollar companies use stuff from their companies...

Honestly, I think Ultimate Spider-Man has the RIGHT IDEA WITH THE GOBLIN IN SOME TERMS. Having Norman turn Goblin by going through a transformation is an ok idea and the best way to go in terms of having a real Goblin look. Maybe not make the transformation like Hulk but more Joker in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

Start at 1:19

It would probably be the best idea to have something like the 616 Goblin.

The problem with TASM2 Goblin suit is simple. It's unmotivated.

The suit connected to the glider is literally the same idea as the Raimi suit. I mean I can on about Kid Goblin's backstory but I'm more talking about appearance. It's basically a darker green suit of Raimi's Goblin without the mask.

Just my 2 cents. Green Goblin is hard to adapt but Raimi did it well.

Oh STFU with this crap... 5 years of bitching about wanting Spider-man back at Marvel, now an article about how it could suck? Go back to bed, you're still drunk CBM writers and editors...

Yea. Raimi had the hood in that fire scene. Would have been better to have like a purple cloth over him throughout the film.

Best photo I could find of the scene.

Of course the masses do not care....... but ever heard of buyers remorse. Oh wait there is really is no buyer in this deal, just a character loaned out. Yup so that means SONY owns Spiderman and if something does not go their way........... Than again I guess it is all worth it for a cameo in Civil War right?

So long as Sony is wise and LISTENS to Marvel's advice, we should be fine.

Once Sony, and I foresee this happening, once Sony decides they don't need Marvel's continuity and do whatever they want regardless of the MCU landscape, fans will revolt. Marvel will have to do something like say the Sony Spinoffs exist in their own universe and either fit an episode of AoS or a Marvel One Shot to explain why shit don't make sense.

I'm getting so sick and tired of this Miles Morales crap. Nobody is asking for Dick Grayson to be Batman in BvS, or an Iron Man movie with Rhodey and no Tony Stark, and with good reason. Peter Parker is Spider Man. End of story.

Can we not have another film with Goblin and start setting up a proper Venom and Symbiote storyline? Vulture, Rhino and Kraven need to be in Spider-Man films.

I know people keep saying that no money exchanged hands, and it's likely true, but Marvel did give up their date to allow Sony to have it competition free for their solo Spidey film. Personally, I have to agree that the three new hero films that got pushed back seem more interesting to me than another Spider-man. Still, we shall see.

I agree Batman and Spiderman have the best rouge galleries out there! There are so many baddie that we need to see. Though that is why I am saying if they do another Goblin please let me Hob Goblin.

That being said I would love to Scorpion or Mysterio soon!

In sense it is a crime.....SONY just robbed the MCU. Will this decision stop me from seeing the movies nope....... could it effect the quality of the MCU maybe time will tell.

To me the MCU was just fine without Spiderman.

I get your point but here's the problem with that, Marvel is still making an Inhumans film, a Black Panther film, and a Ms Marvel film; hell, I'd argue that characters like Thanos and Ultron are inherently obscure to the general audience.

If they cancelled all these titles, or say, made Avengers 3 into a Dark Siege adaption I'd get where you're coming from but it's not the case. Marvel still is pulling from their roster. So don't worry.
