Deadline is reporting, Univesal Pictures has three directors already in mind to helm their Snow White and the Huntsman sequel. Those three directors in contention are:
Frank Darabont, Gavin O’Connor and
Andy Muschietti.
Frank Darabont is probably the biggest surprise on this list as he is known to be very picky about which films he works on. He is the former showrunner of AMC's
The Walking Dead, until he was booted cause he wanted the number 1 show on cable television to have a higher budget. What a jerk! He is also the director of arguably the best film of all time,
Shawshank Redemption.
Gavin O'Connor is also talented as he directed
Warrior, a thrilling mixed-martial arts film with Tom Hardy. Lastly, there is
Andy Muschietti who directed the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror film,
Mama.
The first film was directed by Rupert Sanders and starred Kristen Stewart ("Twilight"), but Stewart is not expected to return for the sequel. Producers are planning to have a film that focuses on Chris Hemsworth's Huntsman character. Neato! Producers are also gunning for a 2015 release date, but that might be wishful thinking.
SNOW WHITE & THE HUNTSMAN was directed by Rupert Sanders, from a script written by Evan Daugherty. The cast includes: Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Ian McShane, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, Ray Winstone, and Nick Frost.
