CHILD'S PLAY Creator Wants CHUCKY To Fight ANNABELLE

Don Mancini, creator of the Child’s Play franchise, would like to have his possessed Chucky doll battle the possessed Annabelle doll. Who do you think would win that fight?

The Conjuring spinoff Annabelle may have finished in second at the box office this weekend to David Fincher's Gone Girl, but Warner Bros. isn't losing any sleep over it as the film pulled in a healthy $37M. With numbers that good you would have to expect a sequel is in store for the possessed doll. Could her next film be a battle with Chucky? Don't count on it, but maybe down the road.

"I am hoping that at some future point we have Annabelle and Chucky team up," says Child's Play creator Don Mancini. "I can see that (even) in 20 years from now."

Mancini has written all of the film's in the Child's Play franchise, and directed the last one, Curse of Chucky, which went straight to video-on-demand. Even though interest in the series has dwindled over the decades there is still enough of an interest to warrant a seventh film, which Mancini is currently writing. Could Annabelle make a cameo in that one? "We would be into it, the only problem is that we are in different studios. That would probably be years worth of red tape to work it out," says Mancini. "But if it all could be worked out, then yes, we're very into it."

Hey, if we can get a Freddy Vs. Jason film I don't see why we can't eventually get a Chucky Vs. Annabelle film too. As Mancini mentioned, this would require Universal (owns Chucky) and Warner Bros. (own Annabelle) to work out an arrangement.

She terrified you in “The Conjuring,” but this is where it all began for Annabelle. Capable of unspeakable evil, the actual doll exists locked up in an occult museum in Connecticut—visited only by a priest who blesses her twice a month. New Line Cinema’s supernatural thriller “Annabelle” begins before the evil was unleashed. John Form has found the perfect gift for his expectant wife, Mia—a beautiful, rare vintage doll in a pure white wedding dress. But Mia’s delight with Annabelle doesn’t last long. On one horrific night, their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult, who violently attack the couple. Spilled blood and terror are not all they leave behind. The cultists have conjured an entity so malevolent that nothing they did will compare to the sinister conduit to the damned that is now...Annabelle.

Director: John Leonetti * Writer: Gary Dauberman
Actors: Annabelle Wallis, Alfre Woodard, Tony Amendola, Eric Ladin & Brian Howe

I love how the Child's Play series went from horror to slasher comedy.

Bride of Chucky is the GOAT.

The original Child's Play is one of my favorite horror movies.

I think I would rather see Chucky take on Billy from Dead Silence, though. Loved that flick.

Freddy vs. Jason was awesome. It was campy, funny, and Freddy was played to perfection. Robert Englund is the undisputed KING of horror villains.

Don't vindicate that garbage, Annabelle. That'll just give them a reason to keep making poor horror movies. I hope they leave Chucky alone and just let his legacy rest, instead of making it worse by pairing him up with these so-called "horror" movies of today

Too late, Annabelle make over $37M last weekend, so you can count on a sequel happening.

These James Wan movies and their ilk (the Insidious series, The Conjuring) are mediocre entertainment to begin with but this movie looks like ass even in the commercials and that's never good.

I would do almost anything to see Englund don the claws again. But, I was pleasantly surprised with Jackie Earle Haley's performance. He brought out the creepy side of Freddy very well. Just kinda missed the humour.

Yeah, I know. It's got me down in the dumps. Lol. I don't see where we went wrong, as a society. We built the horror genre on such a strong foundation, now there's so many uninspired and just plain bad horror movies that I've all but stopped watching them entirely. There's no point. I guess I'll just wait for someone else to adapt another Stephen King novel, or something, I don't know

It hasn't all been horrible. I've enjoyed a couple of Ti West's movies (House of the Devil, The Innkeepers) and the some segments in the V/H/S series are fun. Wan's style, on the other hand, is pretty effing hokey to me.

In other words, I'd like my stale, dead franchise to be carried by your fresh, lucrative franchise.

If it was just doll to doll, Chucky would win. However, Annabelle has an inhuman spirit attached to her so the advantage goes to her.

@Nordberg, I was gonna mention the Zuni doll also. That was one bad motherlover. The original "Trilogy Of Terror" was a made for TV movie in '75 or so, and I don't mind admittin' that thin' scared the livin' hell outta me as a kid.

I really don't give a damn about a vs. movie, since they suck balls.

Just give me some more Childs Play movies. I love the first four, and the strait to DVD one was kinda cool.

Chucky is top 5 slasher of all time.

The Zuni doll freaked me out when I was a kid too! Even worse than the Zuni doll, however, were the creepy little prune faced bastards from the recently remade Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, '73. They scared the shit outta me.
