While director
Joel Schumacher ("The Lost Boys") was shooting 1997's ill-fated
Batman & Robin, Warner Bros. looked at the dailies and were positive they had another hit on their hands so they began planning a third
Batman film with Schumacher at the helm. Its tentative title was
Batman: Triumphant and it was written by screenwriter
Mark Protosevich.
The plot: "
The Joker would return as a hallucination in Batman's mind caused by the Scarecrow's fear toxin.
Harley Quinn appeared as a supporting character, written as the Joker's daughter trying to get revenge on Batman for the Joker's death." -

When
Batman & Robin failed to beat the previous
Batman films at the box office Warner Bros. cancelled those plans, and the franchise would later be rebooted by Christopher Nolan ("Batman Begins"). Now it appears that Schumacher would like to tell his true vision of Batman and will do so via comic books.
Because Bleeding Cool has been told that Joel Schumacher is writing a twelve issue Batman comic, currently being drawn by Dustin Nguyen, which will revisit his intentions for the three films, or which two were made. Rewritten from scratch and telling one story, this will contain his original vision for the movies. Expect an announcement when more of the scripts are in…
