Sony Says AUNT MAY Movie Without SPIDER-MAN Is A "Silly Rumor"
Put away your pitchforks and torches. Comic Book Resources reached out to Sony for a comment on Latino-Reviews' latest rumor, which said the studio was planning a movie based on a young Aunt May. Sony debunked it and called it a "silly rumor."
Late last night, Da7e Gonzales from Latino-Review surprised us when he reported that Sony was developing a movie "about Aunt May as a youth, before she was shouldered with the responsibility of raising Peter Parker." He claimed the film would be an "espionage story" akin to Marvel's Agent Carter. Most people did not react well to this rumor. Earlier today, Comic Book Resources reached out to Sony about the rumor and they debunked it.
When reached by CBR News, a source within Sony stated that the report of a Spider-Man spinoff starring a young Aunt May is a “silly rumor” with “no validity whatsoever.”

The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn.
