Amazing Dad Dresses As SPIDER-MAN To Surprise 5-Year-Old Son Battling Cancer

Just over a year ago, Doctors diagnosed young Jayden Wilson, who was 4 at the time, with a grade IV brainstem glioma. It's the most severe malignant brain tumor because these tumors show a very rapid growth.  Jayden's parents were told by doctors their son only had about a year to live. Knowing that Jayden's next birthday might also be his last his father, Mike Wilson, decided to make it extra special.

Mike, a parkour enthusiast, dressed up as Jayden's favorite superhero, Spider-Man, and leaped off the roof of their Basingstoke, U.K. home to greet the awestruck child. Mike hid a camera by the front door so that he could capture Jayden's reaction, and then several days ago posted it on YouTube for everyone to enjoy. You can watch the tender father and son moment in the video below.

Jayden's father explained to The Independent why and how he put together this marvelous surprise:  “I’ve always been a big Spider-Man fan myself, and Jayden also absolutely loves him. His bedroom is covered in Spider-Man pictures.

“I wanted to surprise him so much with one of his favourite heroes, so I found 2 costume designers, who were up for the challenge. We had the costume printed in America and then got to work putting it together. It was finished about 3 weeks before Jayden's birthday so perfect timing to work out how to surprise him.”

"Today he is still with us fighting it all the way, but at least he has Spider-Man to take care of him," Mike Wilson wrote on YouTube.

Jayden's family setup a Facebook page and a GoFundMe account if you would like to learn more about his condition or to make a donation.

Sheez, if the poor kid didn't die from the brain tumor, the jump off the roof by Spidey could have given him a heart-attack...seriously though, as a dad myself, this is super cool...what a thrill for his son, great job Dad!

Wow, right out of the comics pages, ala the issue The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man, where Spider-Man visited and revealed his identity to a child who had leukemia

Sometimes people act like these types of movies are unimportant. Sometimes, people focus on the wrong things, like which company created them, or which studio produced the movie. But this is what truly matters - how they can make people even in the worst circumstances feel better, even if it's only for a moment. Very touching, can't imagine going through something so awful at all, let alone with the strength that they seem to have.

@VIRILEMAN have you read The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man?

I love it when people do these things, its really an awesome thing that a gesture like this can make a kid so happy to meet their heroes. Even better when actors like Chris Pratt, Hugh Jackman, etc do it because its so real for the kids and means so much to them.
Thumbs up SpiderDad… At least there was One real good Spiderman this year!
