In the season three midseason premiere of CW's Arrow, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) finally suited up as Black Canary. Perfect timing as her sister was dead and Oliver was MIA. It was up to her and Arsenal/Roy Harper to protect Starling City in their absence. Check out Black Canary concept art below.

THE TEAM DEALS WITH OLIVER'S DISAPPEARANCE; In the aftermath of Oliver's (Stephen Amell) fight with Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable), Diggle (David Ramsey) and Arsenal (Colton Haynes) continue to protect the city in the Arrow's absence. However, after three days without hearing from Oliver, they begin to fear the worst may have happened to their friend. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) refuses to believe that Oliver could be dead until Merlyn (John Barrowman) pays the team a surprise visit. Thea (Willa Holland) suspects there is something more behind Oliver's disappearance and asks Merlyn for a favor. Meanwhile, Ray (Brandon Routh) tests a part of his new suit and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) takes up the mantle of the Black Canary. Laurel has definitely been one of the few highlights of season 3. She went from being a whiney drunk to a proactive and clear minded character. Her and Roy are the only reasons to keep watching…and Detective Lance because he is always great

Laurel went from a self centric, man dependent, annoying,lying, cowardly,jealous bitch to self centric, man dependent, annoying,lying, cowardly,jealous bitch who acts like self proclaimed hero because she went through hell that she herself created and thinks that everyone should respect her because of that.

Roy and Diggle are the only decent characters in the entire show, everyone else is dumb including Captain Lance who is reduced to a plot contrivance...

I used to hate Laurel. She was insufferable in Season 2, but she's been great this season.
I also fail to understand the hate for Felicity. They're both strong characters who are finally moving past Oliver. That's a good thing.

Ah Felicity, once cute I.T girl, now an omnipotent computer expert who can pull any information out of her ass no matter how dumb it is. Felicity isn't the same character from the season 1 and not thanks to character growth but thanks to her CW-sation. This starter right from the beginning of season 2, they started giving her shorter skirts, more make up, stupid jewelry, they started transforming her more and more into a monster known as Whoreicity, her only purpose in the show is to be a vapid computer bimbo who sprouts retarded one liners and want to ride every single male character's disco stick.
Felicity is behind Laurel the worst female character on TV with iris right behind her...

funny how people complain about katie's acting when she is actually one of the better actors there. oliver is so wooden, it's painful to watch, felicity should probably just quit and serve burgers somewhere. and roy and thea.. my god...
it seems to me that the real problem people have with laurel is that she is a woman going through a tough time and people have zero understanding/interest. not saying she is without flaws but come on.. everyone is quick to forget what a dick oliver actually is.

Thing is, I really like Katie Cassidy...have since I first saw her on Supernatural. I was really happy to see she was involved when I got into the show. But she's just not Black Canary! I'm glad they're taking her fighting prowess in steps and degrees, but something just isn't right, and I'm afraid a lot of it is just her body type. I have no doubt she's been working very hard at getting in shape, and I admire that, but at her best, she's just not going to look or move like I expect Canary to look and move.

Still not the best show, watch it but only think it is okay.
Diggle is the best character, he needs to be in on the action rather than staying back.THe guy has military experience, is huge and can handle himself in a fight.

Think Felicity is super hot.

ScarJo has no muscle mass whatsoever but because she's got big boobs and a big ass no one cares.

Katie Cassidy has come a long way. Laurel has become a very vital part of the show to me. Plus, she's looking fantastic. It's very obvious from looking at her now as opposed to Season 1. Girl is getting pretty buff.
