This May, Tim Burton and Johnny Depp team up to bring us their re-imagining of the classic series DARK SHADOWS. The story of Barnabas Collins and his Collinsport companions has enthralled audiences since it first aired in the late 60s. Now, FM is celebrating the return of DARK SHADOWS with THE most complete coverage you’ll find anywhere. With new and exclusive FM interviews from the original cast members Jonathan Frid, Lara Parker, David Selby, Katherine Leigh Scott, and more, plus a conversation with new DS director, Tim Burton, issue 261 is the place for all things DARK SHADOWS. To celebrate, one of FM’s favorite cover artists—Jason Edmiston (254 Vincent Price, 255 Voldemort)—brings us his vision of “The Barnabi”, Jonathan Frid and Johnny Depp as we bridge the divide between the SHADOWS of the past and the SHADOWS of the future.

Dark Shadows also stars Helena Bonham-Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Chloe Moretz and Jackie Earle Haley. The film will be in theaters May 11th, 2012.

Not a big Johnny Depp fan, but this could be interesting. I wish Tim Burton would stop collaborating w/ Depp so often & start collaborating w/ Michael Keaton again. They made a great team.

Looks only slightly better than I expected. That being said, it looks very average.

I thought we were actually going to see the movie before the trailer. I have not seen the original tv series, but this looks nothing like what I expected.

I want vampire movies that are about horror and drama. Not comedy. This is barely better than Twilight.

It has about as much in common with the original horror soap opera as Jack Black's "Gulliver's Travels" had with its original source. That being said, even though I loved the original show, this made me laugh.

Im assuming everyone complaining about the music would rather hear the same Danny Elfman flutes that we've been hearing for 20 years.

Or maybe everyone wants to hear that random inception BOOOOOMMMMMMM that is in every "Awesome" trailer now a days. Grow up. This movie looks fun.

Looks funny to me. Both my parents (in their 50's) think it looks bad. In fact they are MAD about it. They are angry that it is making light of "their time" (the 70's).

So it's been a REALLY long time since my Dad made me sit through his VHS collection of Dark Shadows, but I don't remember it being very funny. He is not going to be pleased by this at all. Plus he thinks Johnny Depp is a mediocre actor at best who plays on his "quirkiness" way too much.

As a big fan of the real Dark Shadows I am here to tell you this is a slap in the face to a true cult classic. Dark Shadows was not a comedy, it was classic gothic horror with a slight science fiction twist.

I hope Tim Burton's career chokes on this film.

Not bad. But again I have been fooled by Burton. This will be a Netflix rental. I will never see a Burton movie at the theater again after Planet of the Apes.

(I did like Big Fish though).

Gotta say, I'm really surprised by how much I like this. Reminds me of old school Tim Burton. I remember watching the show with my mom when I was younger, and even though this is drastically different it still seems like a good time at the movies, which isn't that why we go in the first place?
