TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Creator Kevin Eastman Praises Michael Bay's Vision

Yup, you heard that right, the creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has seen what Michael Bay is working on behind-the-scenes and is very enthusiastic about it.

By nailbiter111 - Mar 22, 2012 11:03 AM EST

What more can we say? Michael Bay has decided to make the turtles an alien race in the new live-action film and the fans reacted extremely negative. But, will the fans still be so negative when the creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman, tells you what Michael Bay is doing with the property is "AWESOME"?

Kevin Eastman - "Hey Guys, Sorry to have been away for so long--completely swamped with work--but it is some pretty exciting stuff. I had been invited to check out the TMNT film development by my friend Scott Mednick over the years, and a while back had a full look behind the curtian at what writers Appelbaum and Nemec, director Liebesman, and producer Bay are doing--and trust me--it IS AWESOME. I'm officially on board, and will share more as I'm allowed... thanks all!"

Thanks to M. Christopher Roth for the heads up.

I dont understand the unnecessary change, but both original creators are on board so I think its worth giving a chance. If it sucks it sucks, but it may very well prove to be an improvement.

I love how fanboys are telling the creator he's wrong for liking it. The property is over 20 years old now. Some changes are due! If Eastman is in, give it a chance. He's definitely not selling out. He's got money. I mean 30 years worth of Turtles money! He's been involved with every iteration since the 80's. If he's okaying it, I'll wait and see it.

Bay will probably just replace the robots from the first Transformers movie with turtles and Shia Lebeouf with a large rat. Then, he'll go take a dump, with equal effort.

I can't trust it....can't trust the "alien" thing. I prefer what PL said, he said just give it a chance, it could be terrible, but at least give it a chance

You people are pathetic. You heard ONE detail about the film. Grow up and chill out. Wait for a trailer, poster, or the movie before you start complaining and name calling.

LOL They took a hilarious idea of genetically altered turtles in the throws of puberty and added the fact that they are extraterrestrials to the mix. How can you not snicker?

@overtappeal - I see "unneccesary" as more of a neutral comment. Its not necessarily for or against. I think the change is completely unnecessary as well. but that does not mean it wont end up being an improvement.

I'm telling you guys, Keanu Reeves is in on this. They can't make the movie without him!

The last four Alien turtles of their species have fled to Earth because their home planet was destroyed by Krang the Konquerer. Arriving to Earth, they know full well they are no match for Krang's forces which are soon to come destroy the Earth on their trail... unless... unless they learn KUNG FU!!! So quickly they research Earth's "historical records" (Movies) and head straight for Keanu Reeves' crib. Unfortunately, all they found was his pet rat. But their logic dictates that the rat has absorbed Keanu's Kung Fu through photographic memory. They then proceed to circle the rat's cage and squirt their male turtle ooze all over the rat, mutating him into their new found master. Together they fled into the sewers to build their HQ under the concrete rug of the humans. But little did they know, Keanu would come back and find his rat's empty cage covered in radioactive alien turtle ooze. He took no chances and started to lick every drop of it to then mutate into... THE SUPER SHREDDER!!!!!

Mr. Bay put alot of thought into this, think about it The Ninja Turtles kick ass with chop sockie Action (a.k.a. Nothing Blows Up!) make them "Aliens" & spaceships crash, laser blasters are used, for some reason a building blows up, April O'Neil becomes a hot chic with giant lips, it really is genius.

All this debate over a stupid childish concept of PET TURTLES turning into mutants that eat Pizza?

Seriously, some people need a whole lot of growing up to do and a lot of going out to do a lot more of! Scary people worried about shit this insignificant are allowed to vote!

You guys gotta remember, Jonathan Liebesman is directing this, NOT Bay. He's only producing. In case you're wondering who he is, he directed Battle: LA and the upcoming Wrath Of The Titans.

Man, you guys are being lame. How is he a sell out. Don't you think the first $1 he made selling a comic made him a sell out? What about Turles 3 - TURLES IN TIME. Sheesh, you guys have no clue what they're really doing.
NewNameWhoDis
NewNameWhoDis - 3/22/2012, 12:16 PM
You're not a sell out for being tolerant of other peoples ideas and vision. At some point in the turtles universe, someone said "What if we also had a samurai rabbit?". It suggests the same things as you guys are bashing this idea for. More mutant animals. The creators gave it a go ahead. So shut up. Your point becomes invalid if the person who thought the whole thing up in the first place tells you they're in to it.
