Hey, remember that time when that knucklehead writer on comicbookmovie.com (pointing at myself) mistakenly thought a four hour run time comment by an MTV writer was serious, and not the poor comedic joke that it was? No? Good, cause I've forgotten about that too.
UPDATE: CBM's own
CPBuff22 came across an interesting find and did some digging as well. On the
Celebration Cinema's The Dark Knight Rises page they list the movie as having a run time of
130 Minutes. Ah, but there is more:
"Well I called the Celebration! Cinema offices and they say that they have been informed of the 2:16 time(includes credits). Its fairly crucial info for them as they try to plan out an IMAX schedule being that there will be a couple movies playing in IMAX at the time and the need to optimize the use of the one screen." - CPBuff22
UPDATE #2: Okay, thank goodness I got that "Rumor" tag in front of the article.
Celebration! Cinema has contacted me to tell me that their listed run time of 130 minutes is just a guess.
Christian Bale's final Batman film is just over 2 hours long? I'm surprised. I really thought we were looking at something on the lines of two and half, or even possibly three hours to be honest with you. Maybe Bane and Catwoman won't need that much time to flesh out.
The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.
