I honestly don't get the whole Spidey skate boarding thing. Its completely unnecessary. Are they trying to show that he's a teenager? Is it to show how his spidey powers make him have mad coordination skills? Because that doesn't make sense. And if its before he is bitten then again, doesn't make sense. Cuz before he gets bit he's a nerdy science geek who doesn't skate board. I'm confused, anyone shed some light on the matter.

Gman - you read my post wrong. I was asking if they were trying to show his new skill from his powers with the skateboarding. My point being is that him swing around, wall crawling, jumping all over the place will show his powers. I just feel the skateboard is out of place with the character for Peter Parker.

I am all for updating and modernizing a character but I feel it is out of character for Peter Parker. That has never been his personality. I got nothing against skate boards and those who use them.

Kalel219 does it affect the fact that he doesn't skateboard in the comics at all? And yes it is a stereotype, but typically people that skateboard have a certain personality about them.

The skateboard thing doesn't bother me THAT much. I just hope they cast a bunch of older than high school students so he doesn't look so awkwardly out of place like the guys in 21 Jump Street did (which they were supposed to in that film). For someone so smart he shouldn't look like he was held back that many years.

Curiosity got to me and Flash Thompson is a 27 year old actor as well. Looks like they are going to cast a bunch of upper 20 year olds to play 16/17 year olds. I guess they will at least all look around the same age that way.
