Final one is the best, IMO. Some good stuff here. A nice dynamic range.

Listened to a couple of these tracks before. A lot of references. The vocals remind me of Avatar. I like what Horner did here. Mysterious at times, urban here and there, and heroically swinging-through-Manhattan majestic throughout. @nailbiter111 Thanks for sharing this.

U can definately feel the Danny Elfman influence from the previous trilogy in this soundtrack, especially in the second song

Wait, where are the "few subtle references" to the Elfman theme?

Not a great soundtrack but there are a few good tracks. My opinion is slowly changing about the film. I am a huge Spider-Man fan and I fel the first two trailer were complete crap. The latest tv spots and clips though look good. Im looking forward to July.

I heard it in the first track. In the beginning, a little after the Avatar-esque vocals.

"Musics" makes no sense given the context of your sentence. You should have said "These songs suck" or "These tracks suck."

Quit trolling please.

Sounds just perfect. I honestly didn't think Elfman's majestic score could be matched, but Horner managed to pull it off! I love it!

Not gonna listen to them till AFTER I see the movie. I like the music better when I hear it in the movie first, that way I can picture the scenes along with the music.

I complete agree with you itbegins2005, the trumpet is just wtf. This sounds like something to be used in some astronaut going into space film.

I absolutely loved Elfmans work on the original films. Good lord imo this doesn't compare at all.

Why would he reference Elfman if this is supposed to be a completely different type of movie all round?

The score is good, but it's not really Spider-Man... Spider-Man needs to be up-beat and punk rock-ish, oh well, maybe I'm just spoiled cause Avengers owns.

I definitely feel the "rocket liftoff" vibe from this score— but I think it works for TASM, judging by the released clips.

Gambitfreak, I think this and Avengers may be tied for worst scores this year. The theme you embedded is awesome, but the rest is beyond terrible in that album.

What Horner does best here are those tracks that express Wonder and Mystery. I don't think he does as well with sentimentality or the character themes.
@itbegins2005 Horner has always over-emphasized the horn section in his music (hence the name :P)

Yeah. I think you said it perfectly.

@thewonderer

While each score worked well with the motion picture, it doesn't stand well on it's own. Overall, a lot of people unimpressed with the scores for TDKR, TASM, & The Avengers.

TheMarvelite Is Right. wonderer Besides the extremely popular themes from Star Wars (Main and Imperial March) name 2 more tracks from it without going to Google (Which knowing you, you probably already have a tab opened for it), name 2 tracks other than the main theme from Elfman's Batman, Spider-Man, etc. Name 2 tracks from LOTR, you can't, unless your a major fan. Avengers' Score was damn good, you can tell what the main theme is, you can tell what One Way Trip is and you can sure as hell tell what A Promise is. But in all seriousness, all anyone really remembers is the Main Theme cause it set the tone for the Film. Star Wars, Star Trek, LOTR, Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, etc all did that, and Avengers excelled at it. This score however, well let's just say it better fit damn well good with the scenes it's used in, if not, I will forget it by the time I walk out.

some tracks are epic and majestic,others are playful,others are sad,others are misterious,others are kind of frightening,others have a modern touch,it's a nice range.

and yeah,you can tell Elfman's influence in some of the tracks,which is a nice touch.

I like it,a lot :)

@3D

*sigh* this is gonna get me more Nolanite insults but TDKR, from what we've heard already, sounds incredible. TDK and BB have the best scores of any CBM since 2005 at least. I'd argue Hans Zimmer stands next to Elfmans brilliant 89 theme, though the movie sucks.

@Gambit

Oh I'm a huge OST fan. For Star Wars,
The Celebration
The Force
Cantina Band
Love theme
Yoda theme

All incredible brilliant soundtracks. Star Wars had ton of great themes. These are just off the top of my head. Don't even dare compare the shit that was the Avengers soundtrack with it. EVERYONE thinks its terrible. Read reviews around the net. Only marvel turds like you think its good, go to Slashfilmcast and listen to their Avengers review. Terrible score

One Way Trip and A Promise were terrible and vastly generic.

I'm not a fan of Elfman besides that 89 main theme and the Spider-Man films in general and thats ALL thats remembered of 89 Batman music, thats it. I'd call it a bad score as well.

Not even the main theme of Avengers is memorable to the slightest. NO ONE is praising the score for the Avengers in popular culture.

For LOTR, theres
Concerning Hobbits
On The Road Back Home
Mordor
The Main Theme

Avengers OST SUCKED ASS, and everyone thinks so

I liked all these "unimpressive" scores. Many expressed that feeling in the comments, and it's understandable. As for TDKR, it's beautiful. Very "conclusive". The samples didn't showcase much of the chanting, so overall I felt it was more of the same. But still very operatic and close to a masterpiece.
