Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Screenwriters Hired For JURASSIC PARK 4

The often talked about fourth film is finally getting off the ground. Deadline is reporting that Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have been hired by Universal Pictures to write the script for Jurassic Park 4.

According to Deadline Universal Pictures is tapping into their Jurassic Park franchise one more time. And why shouldn't they? The three previous films have amassed $1.9 billion worldwide. This time they are looking at screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver to revitalize the franchise, which they have quite a bit of experience with. The pair are responsible for salvaging the Planet of the Apes franchise with their refreshing script for Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Jurassic Park 4 will be produced by Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy. At the moment no director is attached. Kathleen Kennedy in last December said that the film could be released either Christmas 2014 or summer 2015. Til then Universal is re-releasing the original Jurassic Park in 3D on July 19, 2013.

First film was the best. 2 was decent. I thought the third one was okay, but ended too quickly. I would watch this for sure! I saw the original five times in the theater!

Its the other way around, the second one sucked horrendously. The third is decent.

Never got why the third one is considered SO bad, especially worse than the second one which is just incredibly terrible.

The third one had that badass spinosaurus and had a relatively compelling plot compared to the shitty second one which had vince vaughn and made no sense at all.

Anyway, these writers produced gold out of apes, so excellent choice, and thank god this might be great

I'd go with Brad Bird as director, Jurassic Park filmed in Imax? Yes please. Or maybe even JJ Abram though I doubt he would helm a sequel to someone elses franchise given his recent success.

Maybe even Rupert Wyatt would be good, get the team back together for some dinosaur action.

The first one is my all time favorite movie. It was the first "adult" movie I saw in the theaters and it showed me just how magical movies can be. I also agree that perhaps it's time for a reboot of sorts. if not a reboot then definitely follow up on the shaving cream can that Nedry dropped...

@brickarts295 Thankfully I don't think George Lucas will be anywhere near this film so hopefully we don't have to worry about another Indy 4. Rise of the Planet of the Apes was epic so I'm actually pretty optimistic about what these writers can come up with

I like the idea Boekelaar had of Brad Bird, JJ Abrams or Rupert Wyatt. And Jurassic Park in IMAX? Excuse while clean up the mess I just made. That would look absolutely gorgeous. In regards to the quality of the original trilogy, I absolutely love each movie. I think all of them were a helluva lot of fun and I anxiously await to see how the 4th one will turn out. Now I think its time to go crack open JP on Blu-Ray again

jurrasic park is one of my all time favorite childhood films. can't wait to see them do an updated movie. the special effects from the first film have aged really well. i would like a jurassic park film like the turok video game from 2008: here's the link for the plot:

I want T-Rex back, and not the namby pamby T-Rex we got in JP3. Spinosaurus can just go away...also bring the Raptors back to their status circa JP1 no more of this talking nonsense...also I know its not accurate (but the again JP's Velociraptors are already far from accurate)lose the feathers...

I mean its a movie about freakin dinosaurs, send them to the mainland (not the US, I'm talking South America), throw in a handful of survivors (too bad some of the best characters Robert Muldoon's and Roldand Tembo's actors have died, they would've been fantastic) from the previous films, bring in a plot involving Lewis Dodgson (since they pretty much gave him no screen time in the first movie, and completely left him out of the Lost World, despite having a huge part in the novel). It honestly can't be that hard to make a great film that could reinvigorate the franchise.
