Since the very first set photos surfaced of this strange and mysterious device speculation has run rampant. There were many people that believed it was an earthquake machine, while others proposed it was nuclear bomb, and that is just a few of the ideas that were bandied about. Now we have the proof and Bane's device is a fusion reactor.

Fusion reactors have been getting a lot of press recently because they offer some major advantages over other power sources. They will use abundant sources of fuel, they will not leak radiation above normal background levels and they will produce less radioactive waste than current fission reactors.

Nobody has put the technology into practice yet, but working reactors aren't actually that far off. Fusion reactors are now in experimental stages at several laboratories in the United States and around the world.

So the timer on it. Does Bane intend to blow it up, and with it all of Gotham? I really hope that is not the case. I was kind of hoping for a plot that revolved around Bane taking over Gotham, but putting it in the hands of the citizens (the non wealthy). Bane will stick around but he is there more of an authoritative figure. Him and his men aggressively police the city which has been annexed from the US. However, I intend to have ulterior motives, and everything he does in Gotham is just a front for his bigger scheme.

Also how hard must it be for Gordon to wax poetically on Harvey Dent to the public? The dude was going to kill his son! Right in front of his family. How they are not scarred and in therapy is beyond me. I really hope we see a little angst when Gordon speaks of Harvey to Batman.

@Intruder

Rumor mills is Miranda/Talia feeds the technology from Wayne enterprises, this of course is somewhat backed up by the new viral letters between Bruce and Lucius.

As far as eight years, it appears Bruce is letting himself go after.

If there is any real complaint people could have on TDKR it appears Bruce will be a feeling sorry for himself bitch at the beginning of the movie.

@starspangledbruce hahahahaha that's my favorite part of any batman movie....maybe dr pavel can reverse what the fusion reactor does and can make if into a bomb. I remember at the football stadium Bane rolled that thing out & threatened to use it. He didn't say how though

RidiculousFanBoyDemands
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 6/28/2012, 1:24 PM
He completely phoned it in. He was the best thing in both movies because the other characters consisted of an dis interested Michael Keaton (who did have a great Batman voice), a hammy over the top Danny DeVito playing some sort of sewer monster, and Michelle Pfieffer. Who actually I thought gave the best performance of the two movies. I hated her Catwoman because it was so gimmicky and basically a goth cliche, but Michelle did an amazing job with what the script gave her.

It's cool!!

I mean BANE's ultimate goal is to destroy Gotham... Nuclear Bomb device is the thing!
Hopefully this NUCLEAR stuff is delt in a better way than Avenegers... Didn't want to start Avengers stuff here; cuz I liked Avenegers a lot ... Along with having several problems with it! But in the end that Nuke thing was just just too ridicules... Might work for some but no for me!!
Hopefully here it's not brought in 10 seconds & then oh Batman save th day... Same shit as done by IronMan... Don't do that!!!

Dude, come on Intruder. He was awful in that movie, he didn't even attempt a credible Boston accent. You must have seen the classics, One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, Easy Rider, Chinatown, Five Easy Pieces. Watch those movies again and tell me Jack didn't phone both movies in. Honestly the best actor in the Departed was hands down Mark Wahlberg.
