Mike Weihs - This is a section of a poster design I made for Prometheus that wasn't used. Came close to being the IMAX 12:01 poster. I'll be posting a few of these.

Prometheus was not a very good film. I don't care what the apologists have to say. It had plot holes, characters doing nonsensical things, pointless twists, and didn't even bother to answer its own questions. One should not have to watch a sequel to validate the first's existence.

Really not feelin' the first 'eye-tentacle' poster.

The second poster is much stronger conceptually, and I like the way the hand and the back of the head foreshadows the original Alien poster.
I like the way the engineer's hand gripping someones head looks a bit like a facehugger. Clever, but I don't feel its photographed/Illustrated well enough to really do the concept justice.

I'm still amazed that the film actually happened let alone was a success! A $180 million(?) budgeted science fiction film with the subject matter it covered being released as a summer tent pole film is just insane.., and it worked. Can't wait for the blu ray!

@dwayne-Yes the blu ray does seem interesting, especially with all the extras

Ya If I remember correctly there are almost 50 minutes of deleted scenes. Definetly buying the blu ray opening day.

I'll admit I was a little disapointed but that is only because I have quite high expectations for Sir Ridley as well as for the Alien Franchise as well(I know its separate from the Alien movies). I hope the Directors cut will make it better which they ALWAYS do so can't wait for the Blu-ray.

Still a great movie to watch, just not what I expected.

@Yossarian are you British? I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just asking because a lot of British people didn't like Prometheus, also I didn't think Tron Legacy was that bad; in fact I thought it was quite refreshing to see a Disney movie that had such an ambiguous concept such as having a computer program be the answer to religon, disease, technology, and etc..but hey its your opinion and I respect that.
