The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray November 9th.

I don't even know what some designers of the costume must have been thinking. Some designs are downright atrocius. Why mess with an iconic costume like Spideys? It seems like a waste of time...

That webshooter, combining water with the special web formula is pretty cool though. :)

The 3rd Spiderman Suit and the 1stnlizard design are the best

Man, barely any of the early concepts for the suit looks good. I mean, the Lizard in the above images doesn't look good, either...but at least, some other early concepts of the character actually look like it could've been better than the final one. None for Spidey's suit, sadly.

Ewwwww... didn't think they could go worse than the movie costume... lol. Seriously, just give Spidey back to Marvel Sony...

The hypocritical thing about most people's comments is that if those concepts were of just simple Lizard creature and not the comic character, everyone would say they look awesome because they do, the work and detail looks great and nobody in here could do better.

but just cuz it's suppose to be the comic character, it's crap. stfu you stupid kids.

You know, the costume designers could have went with the classic look. The spider symbol could have been like the comic books spider if designed right. I liked the new suit they went with but it aches me that they didn't even try a classic look. And the spider symbol on his chest is almost a replica of the first movie with a different look.

1 is OK. 3rd one pretty cool.
And I'm feeling that first Lizard design. The head isn't too perfectly round and I look the fins/spikes/

Reboot was good, but not necessary. Raimi's films are still better though, this one was just missing a heart and soul.

Don't really care for any of the designs but the idea of a quick-fill of web fluid that he can reload on his hip is good,he won't need both hands to do it.

Since its a good idea they chose not to use it like they forgot to do anything original the entire movie..big surprise.

Meh, the Lizard looks slightly cooler here but that's about it.

@billnye69

But that's the point isn't it these concepts are of specific characters not some generic or new idea. For a example a Mercedes Benz SLR has a beautiful design but that design is not acceptable for a Porsche 911 and the reverse applies.

Obviously the comparison to the comic character will be made, because that's the frame of reference. No one is knocking the technical aspect or detail it's the design which is in question.

Being able to do better is a weak argument, you don't have to be a chef to appreciate a good meal or identify a bad one. If these were so awesome they would have been used in the movie but I guess Sony also felt they were crap

If Lizard actually looked like a Lizard, I would be fine. These Spidey suits aren't as bad as the ones we saw earlier, but u don't mess with the suit...I don't know why people feel the need to do so

i see how they came up with the designs choices for this movie

sony just gave people who never read a spiderman comic and gave them a buttload of crack to snort then they said go wild ...make a spiderman suit for the tweenies .

Really hoping the second film is a lot better. The first half of TASM was identical to the first half of Spider-Man, it was a huge waste of time and they could've gotten to the cool stuff a lot quicker. Glad they finally got to The Lizard, but he looked like Killer Croc and he didn't have his lab coat.
