Spidey To Get A More Traditional Costume In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2?

While Marc Webb was promoting the release of The Amazing Spider-Man on DVD/Blu-ray he mentioned that the wall crawler would receive a new suit for the sequel. Today, a new rumor suggests that the new costume will be more traditional. So, no more silver shoes?

If you liked the suit, great. If you didn't like the suit, than you should be happy. Either way a change to the suit should come as no surprise as a toy company cannot be expected to put out the same Spider-Man figures and make boku bucks. What's interesting is that Nuke The Fridge has a source that claims the next Spidey suit will be more traditional. Which probably means something along the lines of what Tobey Maguire wore in Sam Raimi's original trilogy, but now with the proper raised webbing.

A source close to the production of “The Amazing Spider-Man” has revealed that the costume Peter Parker’s alter-ego dons to fight crime will be different. For years, hardcore fans have been screaming for an outfit with an original look that’s faithful to the one worn in the Spider-Man comic books. Now Marvel Studios and Columbia Pictures are listening and will deliver the dry cleaning and goods. Fans can rejoice that they’ve been heard and can proudly say they have won!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, and Jamie Foxx is rumored to the main villain, Electro. The sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

Yes :') i saw on twitter that Marc Webb said he was making the eyes bigger!! This is even better news. TASM suit was great....but not perfect. too complicated. Oh and the TASM2 needs a better score LOL a MUCH better score.

Better be true.

I want it to resemble Spider-Man edge of time's suit.

I would like Garfield to get up to the size of Spider-Man in the pictures I posted too. I thought he looked fine in ASM, looked agile. But getting a little more muscle wouldn't hurt.

@Dionysios yeah, I want the bigger eyes, and I love the web pattern on the suit. It's not perfectly symmetric, its got webs going higher, lower, even, it looks great. I want that to be the suit in the movie. And I want him to keep that blasted mask on while he's fighting. That way people see it as Spider-Man vs, not Andrew Garfield/Peter Parker vs.

The silver webbing is a non-issue. Raimi's costume was 98% identical to the comics suit.

Although i hate the TASM suit, I had an idea on how to make it more like the traditional suit. Take Raimi's suit, and instead of adding squared silver webbing, make it cylindrical think black webbing. They've already gone that route partly in the TASM, but instead of raised webbing they've gone with squared depressions.

I love this image, of him swinging, the look of the suit, the style and color of the webbing. Reminds of the good ole days where I enjoyed looking at Spider-Man in action.

I preferred the new suit. The old suit was too perfect. Like [frick] he could have made that, unless of coarse he had the money like Batman.

Never trust anything from Nuke the Fridge. They've completely made things up in the past.

i don't care what people say, the suit in tasm DID NOT look like something a teenager could make.

I can't stand the Raimi suit, Webb's suit was so much better. It looked cool and intimating, and while its completely impossible for a scientific teenage to make that sort of high-tech costume, it was AWESOME. I'd welcome a few changes, however, but keep the feet, eyes and logo at least.

* Sorry, SCIENCE-LOVING teenager.

Also, I really, really hope that Jamie Foxx doesn't play Electro. If they are going down the Night Gwen Stacy Died storyline, at least have GREEN GOBLIN as the villain and do him justice. I would much rather see the comic TRULY come to life. And for the love of God, if they don't kill Gwen off in the sequel, DON'T MAKE SPIDER-MAN A [frick]ING LOVE TRIANGLE, SONY!

NorcalDanceMochine's comments reiterate what we all know about trolls: Their parents are brother and sister, and they are just STARVING for attention. Let's all step back, now, so the trolls can masturbate to their own ignorant attempts to flame. It's what happens when their family tree has no branches.

I liked the new suit. I say again, if I want the comic, I'll read the comic. The movie can change things, long as the essence of the character is there, which it was, then I'm good.

@ JDuke25- I'll never forget the day I opened that comic and saw that image. That was a CLASSIC moment in my comic reading history... As far as the suit goes, I hope this is true, and if so, thank GOD! I've been saying this for years now: Don't screw up the Symbiote suit!!!! And bring in Kraven!!!!

I agree with @Ripynt.
And i also really liked Webbs suit, the texture and color of it popped more, color seemed more vivid. I hope they don't totally redo the whole thing.
Can't wait for the new movie though :)
...not sure about this villain/Foxx stuff :o
