First Look! Clip from The Hobbit: The... by dm_510190317e61c

The Hobbit is a film adaptation of the 1937 novel of the same name by J. R. R. Tolkien and prequel to The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Jackson, director of The Lord of the Rings, returns as director of the film and also serves as producer and co-writer. The films star Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and Richard Armitage, known for playing Lucas North in the BBC drama series Spooks, as Thorin Oakenshield. Several actors from Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy will reprise their roles, including Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Ian Holm, Elijah Wood, and Orlando Bloom. Additionally, composer Howard Shore, who wrote the score for The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, has confirmed his role in all three parts of the film project.

Watched the live event a little while ago, that was a pretty good scene. I was really happy with the first Hobbit film, I'm glad that they decided to do a trilogy instead of just two films, it's allowing for good scenes like this that wasn't in the book to be included.

That whole tomb clip is legitimately creepy. I bet Peter Jackson had a ball with that.

That was great! Can't believe the critics couldn't look past the 48 fps with the first one. Deserves higher than a 65 on RT

Love how they're expanding the Dol Guldur story. I knew this was the only thing that could justify a 3rd movie!!

Just hope they can go lighter on the action speed on this one. The 1st one was awesome but the action scenes were way out of proportion imo. And I'm a tolkien buff.

Yeah I just watched the live event a few hours ago. I'm a bit of a Tolkein purist so the addition of these alleged tombs of the ringwraiths irks me a bit (they never died, they were slowly consumed!) but it's all good. It'll be a really cool angle to explore putting the white council against the Nazgul. Can't wait!!

The set designs for the Master of Lake Town's house were stunning! This is going to be way better than Unexpected Adventure.

Not hating, but I was terribly disappointed with the 1st movie. I was hoping the 2nd would make up for it in a big way, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. Why even bother calling it "The Hobbit" if it's going to push Bilbo and his quest to the side to focus more on Gandalf, Galadriel, Saruman, Radaghast (who I'm convinced is causing Tolkien to roll over in his grave an infinite amount of times), the Necromancer, the Ringwraiths, etc etc. Jackson is obsessed with tying this together with LOTR and in doing so, he's ruining Bilbo's simple adventure story. Ugh, I've never been as angry watching a movie as I was while watching An Unexpected Journey.

I got the opportunity to watch the whole world wide event (what was almost an hour) of askpeterlive & all the behind the scenes of The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug in addition to the footage clip with Gandalf & Radagast. All in all it looks & sounds awesome & I am looking forward to the next film. For any who missed it, an edited/modified version of the event will be posted at thehobbit.com soon.

Missed. Would it really kill WB just to allow a little leaked advertising once in a while? I really hate it when studios do this, because it's like they're been stingy and messing up their image.
