The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. hope thats not the final rhino look. friend of mines on set at the times square scene, she tried to talk to some of the crew, says no one there has ever read a spiderman comic before, only seen the raimi movies, after the last one made spiderman 3 look good i wasnt suprised

Awesome, glad to see the humour will return, seems like a very Spider-Man thing to do, and might be Aleksei's motivation for becoming the Rhino (either later in this film, or more likely in the third one).

@zeonsdemon Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield know quite a bit about Spidey, through reading comics, I mean the TASM directors commentary shows how much knowledge Webb has of the comics, mentioning how seemingly insignificant moments are actually references or inspired by the comics. Paul Giamatti is also a fan of the comics, as he was the one who sought out the role of Rhino as he was a fan of the character, long before the Rhino was set to be in TASM2. They're the only people who need to read the comics (and the writers, who we can assume did their research). Considering that hundreds of people work on the film crews in these types of movies, isn't it possible your friend spoke to someone much lower down in the film crew who may have been speaking for everyone without actually knowing for themselves?
