In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

So this film has Gwen's death, a graduation, Electro, Harry, Norman, maybe Goblin, Rhino, and Mary Jane.

This film is going too overboard and it will fail. Used to be excited but Webb's just a copycat.

Movie so far looks better than the sub-standard first one

@Levi, the only things that are definite in that list are Electro, Harry, Norman, Rhino and the graduation with MJ playing a very small role. Norman might even be played out as a little background presence in this too to be saved for center stage in 3, who knows. It's just too early to tell.

Everyone and their mommas on TASM need to go [frick] themselves, except for Emma stone. ;p

With everything being crammed into this movie, I really hope that Webb can manage it all. Hope it doesn't end up like Green Lantern or Spider-Man 3, with so much put into it that nothing gets any screen time.

You guys are acting like this graduation scene will be 30 min. Chill out

You guys do realize there was a graduation scene in the first film? Calm down. A tiny scenes not going to make this film a travesty. Just wait until Comic Con when we get our first look at it. No need to start hopping on the nope train after photos of a graduation scene. This is sad.

A couple of set pictures and everyone starts assuming that the movie is going to be s***. Seriously, shut the [frick] up. It's one damn scene that's gonna be 5 minutes long, max, not the entire damn movie. Stop crying and get over yourselves. Thank you :).

I really want to see Flash in that scene.

A backpack over a graduation robe with converse under it? Really?

Despite the fact that Peter is poorly-dressed for his graduation, I'm just glad we won't be seeing Peter in high school anymore. At least until Sony reboots the franchise again five years after the third movie.

they shouldnt even be in high school to begin with lol. and i wonder why peter is wearing his backpack (rhetorical since i know its prolly something spidey related)

There's no such thing as Amazing Spider-Man 2012 fans?! Yes there is.

I see same people(like drdroom for example) bashing Spidey again and again. I dunno what do you expect to achieve? Didn't Iron Man 3 teach you anything? No matter how hard you whine and moan and bitch it doesn't matter, nobody cares. General audience will decide movies fate, not comic book purists. Deal with it!

So graduation= FAIL of a movie?

Gosh you Raimi fanboys find the littlest reason to say that the new series sucks. Grow the [frick] up and get over your Cliched, campy, hollywoodized version of Spider-Man.

TheFox
TheFox - 6/1/2013, 12:13 PM
Smart! Garfield's looking a bit old to still be playing a high schooler anyway. But I just hope that they save this scene for the END of the film...

My biggest problem with the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man was that it graduated the characters too quickly, moving their stories along at light speed. Storytelling-wise, it was a jarring transition, and I felt like it really hobbled the movie. The fact is, Peter started out as a high school superhero, and I'm glad that this reboot franchise gave that part of his story plenty of time to breathe (a whole movie, so far-- hopefully two, after this one).

The only reason I wouldn't want this to OPEN the movie (which would also be perfectly dramatically appropriate) is because... well, Sam Raimi already gave us a perfect "Peter in college" movie with Spider-Man 2, so I don't think Marc Webb is really up to the challenge yet.

Hmmmmm... deciding this movie is going to suck simply because of a graduation? what is this world coming to?
TheFox
TheFox - 6/1/2013, 12:16 PM
Wait... Peter has his backpack with him. Will Spidey shenanigans ensue shortly after the ceremony? Or did they go down shortly before? 'Cause that would've been pure Stan Lee-style Spider-Man if Pete showed up to his graduation beaten up and looking like crap...

I am a huge Spider-Man fan and I really liked TASM, it definitely had it's flaws, but I didn't once see one scene where I thought to myself "I would have preferred Spider-Man 4". It was Marc Webb's first ever venture into the action genre, I'm sure his improvements will be shown off well in this go around, let's just wait before judging. AT LEAST until there is actual footage to go off of instead of set photos, seriously.

Pshhhhh I'll watch a marvel studios Spidey movie after they make a decent animated version of him. Ultimate spider-man sucks, and it's proof that Spidey doesn't need to be teamed up. Marvel studios wouldn't and couldn't do a better job becaue they are too busy with 5 million other properties. Anyways idk why so many people showed up too bitch about this movie?? I'm cautious and all but since when is this a copy of anything? A comic book? Peter graduated high school a countless number of times in the books. He gets bitten by a spider many. Times, uncle Ben dies many times as well in the books. But when a film brings those too life it's " a rip off of the old movies" please you have to be desperate to actually think that's a legitimate reason to hate on something. Its a graduation scene chil out

Oh and I bet the reason he looks like that is becasue he is late becaue he was fighting crime

@IronSpider691- I'll take the "campy" Spider-Man over the morally-bankrupt Spider-Man any day. I don't have any problems with Peter graduating because I'm sick of writers believing Spider-Man is only relatable if he is in high school.

@captainobvious, how was peter morally bankrupt. Do you expect him to be a goody 2 shoes? We already have superman and captain america for that.

Superman and Captain America are the symbols of what we are supposed to strive to be. Spider-Man shows us how to get there. he's not going to be perfect right off the bat. that doesn't make him royally bankrupt it makes him human.

3.7M fans on TASM's official FB page would disagree.
