There are many images of battle in the trailers with warriors wearing helms.
Thor needs to wear his in combat.

It's so damn obvious that filmmakers think no one could see Hemsworth "act" if wearing a helmet. That's crap.

Those who don't care about his helmet are just brainwashed by the films version.
In the comics,Thor wears the helmet 99% of the time.

All we need is it on his melon during battle. Simple.

I'm beginning to think the helmet is mostly ceremonial. Loki loves the glamor and attention and wants to be a king which is why he likes sporting it. I do miss it but maybe it doesn't work with Hemsworth's head or something. Maybe they'll surprise us with a scene. Thor looks bad-ass regardless.

We're talking about comic book films that came out in 2000 and 2003.

Batman and Robin all but cemented that costumes on film wouldn't work.

I'm happy Marvel was able to prove everyone wrong though.

The DOFP costumes shall be great hopefully. We already know Wolvie is getting a comic style one.
