New Info Makes Chris Nolan's INTERSTELLAR Sound Corny; First Look At Jessica Chastain On Set

Oh my goodness, did I put Chris Nolan and corny in the same headline? I guess I did. Relax, it's not what you think. New information about the film reveals that corn, the agricultural crop, will have a major role. Also, come see some new set photos.

This week, filming for Christopher Nolan’s big-budget sci-fi movie commenced in Fort Macloed, which is located in Alberta, Canada. The star of the film, Matthew McConaughey, and his fellow actors John Lithgow, Jessica Chastain and Topher Grace were all spotted on set. Most of the action has taken place on the town's Main Street. There, Nolan has had his crew using industrial-sized fans to whip up a blinding dust storm. Then vehicles with actors, such as McConaughey with John Lithgow, drove through the storm in a pickup truck.

A local paper, the Fort Macleod Gazette, has some additional information about the film:
"Set in the future, the movie details the toll climate change has taken on agriculture, with corn the last crop to be cultivated. The scientists embark on a journey through a worm hole into other dimensions in search of somewhere other crops can be grown."

They take a big budget movie and make the basis of the story around farming crops in other dimensions? Really?

Sounds odd. But then again, he did make some pretty sweet movies about a guy in a rubber suit running around on rooftops.

Sounds like an idea a retarded fourth grader would come up with, but hey, it f*cking Nolan. I trust he'll find a way to make people traveling the universe to find corn interesting.

The Direction, Cinematography, Score, and Acting (other than Talias death) were all top notch in TDKR but the script severely pissed me off. For Nolan to make some very intelligent movies that one is clearly made for idiots.

So Christopher Nolan Is making a big budget Sci-Fi cultural commentary on the misery of the dust-bowl, and the sufficient hope beset by FDR and his policies while exploring the ideas set out by president FDR and his cabinet to enhance situation aiding the American farmers, being replaced with Outer Space, Worm Holes, and planetary exploration and fun action.

Sounds amazing, really excited.

Just to put my opinion in here, TDKR is REALLY good but The Avengers is the best superhero movie. [frick] realism.

As I said, Wes Bentely and Topher Grace are my most looked forward to actors in the film (Topher Grace is also underrated in my opinion). Not a fan of Mackenzie Foy. Everyone else are great casting additions.

Has anyone else taken notice to McConaughey's resurgence???

He was always my TOP choice for CAP, but I think it's funny how he has gone back down to a "normal" physique (ie.- no crazy tan and working out 15 hrs a day) and now he's geting leading roles again...

Hmmm...

Is Jensen Ackles in this?

Anyway, this sounds like an great movie.

Also TDKR, obviously was much better than the cartoon for little kids, aka the Avengers.
Rokyn

Some of you are incorrectly reading into this. It states that corn is one of the last crops left to be cultivated and they have to reach out into the unknown to find new/other crops to cultivate. Adds bit more of a purpose to reach out into the unknown. It's not simply a movie about corn and details are obscure at best right now. Anyhow seems to be a classic science fiction idea very similar to those ideas of early. TOS/TNG Trek, SG1 Gate, Twilight Zone, and other works of science fiction. I like that Nolan is working on Sci-Fy since it's his favorite genre and he most of time makes celebral films. Film has a lot of potential, great cast, and a great director so let's see what happens.
