Despite the assault on Oscorp Tower two weeks ago and the revelation that disgruntled Oscorp employee, Dr. Curt Connors, was responsible for the attack, Oscorp’s stock has climbed four points.

Oscorp spokesman Douglas Menken provided some details from the meeting, including that the construction on the prototype alternative energy power plant, complete with hydroelectric tower, is on schedule for completion within the next year.

Other highlights included a preview of a flight harness for the military and significant advancements in robotics by the head of the engineering division, Spencer Smythe.

Oscorp personnel dismissed questions regarding Norman Osborn’s health and whether the company’s estranged heir apparent, Harry Osborn, is up to the task of running his father’s conglomerate.

Menken stated, “Between the disappearance of Dr. Rajit Ratha, the rogue actions of a very unstable former employee and Norman Osborn’s health concerns, everyone in the media will cry the sky is falling, but just the opposite is true. While everyone else ducks for cover, Oscorp is always reaching for the stars.”

TASM2 - Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

"...the head of the engineering division, Spencer Smythe."

So, I loved TASM and was already excited for this film. Reading that? Just made me even more excited for the new three Spidey-films.

I'm going to guess that they're just going to heavily tease Goblin throughout the movie.

"Between the disappearance of Dr. Rajit Ratha..." Scene where Lizard kills him should be in the movie...they had it why didn't they use it.

Very interesting "story"...and another Marvel/Spiderman character confirmed...Spencer Smythe.

"flight harness for the military " Something connected to Gobby probably.

I can see that the makers of this movie are fully aware of how many important scenes was taken out of the first film and are planning to answer these questions. The untold story.

The Oscorp's evil indian guy from the first movie already made think that why didn't they just use Donald Menken, Spencer/Alistar Smythe or Mendel Stromm from comics instead of making up their own character.

"Flight harness" sounds like it would have more to do with the Vulture than with Green Goblin, to be honest. "Harness" indicates it would envelop the body in some way, whereas the goblin glider is more of a small personal aircraft. In the Spectacular Spider-Man animated series, I think Vulture was a disgruntled employee of OsCorp who had his research stolen. That would fit, considering Electro's origin in Amazing Spider-Man 2 seems to be directly lifted from the show.

Am I the only one thinking there's a possible tease for Hydroman in there - "hydroelectric tower" looks tailor made for an origin accident to me!

I love how they're expanding the Spider-Man Movie Universe by adding Smythe. And by hinting at The Vulture with the harness, which I am about %95 that's who they are referring to, is just another awesome setup for The Sinister Six that we've been hearing rumors about. I'm getting more and more excited about this film. I say bring it.

Good call. I was thinking Green Goblin glider, but you make an excellent point. Here is old school Vulture, referring to it as an electromagentic harness.

I'm inclined to think that hydroelectric power will play a role in how Electro charges up. He did that once in a video game.

One nitpick... Its Donald Menken, not Douglas.

Dr. Rajit Ratha is not Proto-Goblin.

Irrfan Khan was originally announced as Van Atter, a character from the comics who becomes Protogoblin. Later, Avi Arad denied that the announcement came from the production.

Ratha was killed by Lizard in a deleted scene. Who knows whether that was due to time constraints, artistic reasons, or because they are considering bringing him back?

Maybe the harness is for one Dr. Otto Octavius?

The flight harness was the original way that Adrian Toomes took to the sky as The Vulture ( though the character has changed many times in the last 50 years), and this character has already been hinted at so that's my best guess for this piece of information.

There's been an awful lot of talk about a movie featuring the Sinister Six, and this just builds on that. To my reckoning, anyway.
