Former BATMAN Christian Bale Has Some Advice For Ben Affleck, It's A Real Pisser

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

The Dark Knight Rises was directed by Christopher Nolan, from a screenplay written by Christopher and Jonathan Nolan. The cast included: Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John "Robin" Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate/Talia al Ghul.

Christian Bale played Christian Bale without an accent. Not Bruce Wayne.

We've yet to have a decently good portrayal of Bruce Wayne. The closest was Michael Keaton.

@DudeGuyMan - exactly. Kevin Conroy IS Batman. Just like Mark Hamill IS the Joker. Eventually there will be new faces and new voices, but they will all fail at perfectly encapsulating those characters.

I thought that Bale was going to tell Batkid "YOU AND ME ARE DONE PROFESSIONALLY, YOU [frick]ING [frick]!"

Seriously though, I didn't even think about the "pissing problem".

------------

Lol Keaton's Bruce Wayne sucked.....his Batman was arguable the best in live action, but his Bruce Wayne was just flat out lack luster. I'd be willing to say that George Clooney played a better Bruce Wayne, but Clooney was just playing himself. Then again, Clooney is pretty much everything Bruce Wayne is supposed to be, but putting that aside, Bale's portrayal of Bruce was much better than both Keaton & Clooney.

Bale, was the best Bruce Wayne, ever by far.
Keaton, best Batman, yet.

@Super12, Mark Hamill is not the Joker. Heath, will be linked with that part 50 years from now.

Christian Bale was depicted as a terrible Bruce Wayne. Unless, of course, you don't care anything about the source material. But to ignore all of the history that comprises Batman's history makes making a Batman movie pointless.
And Heath Leger, while stepping way outside of his traditional zone, was still basically doing an impression of Tom Waits. It need not be glorified than much more than an interesting twist. But certainly nothing compared to, again, the source material. If DC would learn to make live action movies of the same quaility as there animation, they would find a comfortable medium to cast interesting actors, while not disposing of all the things that make their characters appealing.

It will be nearly impossible not to look beyond Ben Affleck's face/persona/celebrity, no matter how creative the special effects/wardrobe. He's not THAT good of a performer to make us forget who he is, and how limited he has always been to fulfill such an important character in DC's very limited roster.
