Cool BATMAN & ROBIN Concept Art Of Mr. Freeze's Lair & Poison Ivy's Pocketbook

Cool BATMAN & ROBIN Concept Art Of Mr. Freeze's Lair & Poison Ivy's Pocketbook

I guess we can thank director Joel Schumacher ("Lost Boys") for at least one thing. If not for his disastrous Batman & Robin (1997), we may never have gotten Christopher Nolan's wonderful Batman trilogy. Think about that while you check out these pieces of concept art.

1997's Batman & Robin will go down in history as one of the worst comic book movies of all time. Instead of focusing on how much of a mess Batman & Robin turned out let's enjoy some Mr. Freeze's (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman) concept art that was created for Batman & Robin by conceptual illustrator, Mary Locatell.

Image below is from Batman Forever - Riddler's Lair

Chills and thrills: will Gotham City be put on ice? George Clooney is Batman as the dark knight battles his greatest threat yet: cold-hearted Mr. Freeze (Schwarzenegger) and venomous Poison Ivy (Thurman). Batman has more than Gotham City to protect: the youthful eagerness of crimefighting comrades Robin (O'Donnell) and Batgirl (Silversone) puts them frequently in harm's way.

Batman & Robin (1997) was directed by Joel Schumacher, from a script written by Akiva Goldsman. The film starred: Arnold Schwarzenegger as Dr. Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze, George Clooney as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Chris O'Donnell as Dick Grayson/Robin, Uma Thurman as Dr. Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, Alicia Silverstone as Barbara Wilson/Batgirl, Michael Gough as Alfred Pennyworth, Pat Hingle as Commissioner James Gordon, Elle Macpherson as Julie Madison, Vivica A. Fox as Ms. B. Haven, and Vendela Kirsebom as Nora Fries.

I've watched this movie again on my computer and after 5 minutes I turned it off. After The Dark Knight Trilogy who can ever watch this mediocre film ever again?

@Banner and Loki668

If you view it as some sort of Batman parody or modern remake of the Adam West series, it's pretty amusing to watch. In a so bad it's good way.

@SuperSam

Yeah, but I HATED the Adam West Batman. Always have. There aren't enough drugs on the planet to make me enjoy (or ever again watch) Schumacher's Batman films. When it comes to enjoying Batman, I go for the Nolan films. I can NOT wait to see what Batman is like in the upcoming film.

Cool concept art. However, both Batman Forever and Batman and Robin where terrible.

@SuperSam

Bat nipples, Bta butts, and oversized Bat crotch.

The campy-ness I could take and I honestly do see some potentials. But to make Batman toy-iffic for the kids and at the same time inject some sexual innuendos only shows how a sick old man Schumacher is.

@SuperSam, don't insult Adam West's show by comparing it to this abomination.

SHIT MOVIE!!!!!!!

It looks better in caps grif, with some exclamation marks.

It isn't just the worse cbm, it's the worse movie of all time after Gigli! A greek channel had a Batman marathon last year a week before TDKR release date and they also aired this one and I never watched that channel again! This isn't a Batman movie, this isn't even a movie! It's just shit!

Schumacher's films were pure camp...he was doing the 60's type Batman but with a huge budget.
They suck..but just think of them as campy goofy fun & it's not so bad. Bad,but not so bad.

I'm going to be a cool Marvel Studios troll and say that Batman and Robin was way better than the horrible realistic shitty Nolan Trilogy. They RAPED BATMAN HARDER THAN B&R. Oh and Rises sucks and I'm saying it because I'm an insecure bitch that wants to level the playing field.

NOW COME AT ME FANBOYS! WE ARE IN WAR!

It was a funnier/lighter film, dark and serious with Mr. Freeze and his wife and Alfred dying, Batman used martial arts and acrobatics, Nightwing, Poison Ivy gives boners unlike Rachel/Catwoman, great dialog, and just overall fun because I fall asleep every time the Nolan trilogy is on and when MOS is on.

I actually liked Batman Forever, but this hunk of crap was even cheesier than the 60's show.

Surprisingly good concept art, though.

The bat nipples are an artistic choice. An embrace of the perfect figure. I'm glad it had nipples, you guys have no appreciate of art, that bats unit is a work of art.

That clown entrance was exactly what was wrong with every Batman sequel before they started over with Batman Begins... For some reason, every male villain was just doing a version of Nicholson's Joker. (And in this last one, Uma Thurman was just doing another version of Pfieffer's Catwoman.)
