Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award®-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.

Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade.

DJANGO UNCHAINED was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film starred: Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson.

Fully constructed article yet nobody's here whining about it, yet?

LOL anyway, i think Jaime Foxx's casting ended up being the best choice for the role. Tyrese is awesome though. Such a wise and insightful guy, you ought to check out the videos he posts regularly on his Facebook page.

Can't say I'm a big fan of Tyrese. "Baby Boy" and "Four Brothers" are the only two films he starred in that I like. Glad Jaime got the role.

I do like Tyrese
But yeah, they made the right choice.
His acting range isn't as good as Jamie's and he was awesome in that role!

Always an interesting watch, viewing another actor's take on a role....nice find!

I think Tarantino is just going to make a novel for the Hateful Eight. I believe he said that's what he would rather do in an interview.

Loved this movie. Tyrese would have been an excellent choice for this role too but I think Jamie Foxx owned it. Just glad that Will Smith passed on it.
I remember I was apprehensive to watch Django Unchained at first, until I thought about how Tarentino makes crafts his movies. What made me watch was thinking about Inglorious Basterds and how it portrayed a Jewish special ops unit in badass form. Once I actually sat down and watched it, I fell in love with the story. (S/O to Quentin Tarentino for having the balls to make this movie)

I'm ashamed to say that I still haven't seen 12 Years a Slave. I will watch it before the Oscars but as a black man, it's hard for me to watch these movies. It doesn't make me feel any type of way towards white people, just tough to watch because I know my history and can trace both sides of my family back to slavery. It just hits me hard seeing my people treated in such a manner. However it also gives me hope for the future, that we are doing much better as far as race relations in this country and that one day race will be a non factor in life. ;-) (S/O to Steve McQueen)

If Tyrese was taller, He'd be perfect for Luke Cage. Might be a solid Black Panther candidate...

Jamie Foxx was so good its hard for me to watch anyone else and compare them because Tarentino got the best there was for this role out there in Foxx.

That was great, but I'm glad Jamie got the role. Really solidified his role as a serious actor.

@DeadpoolMikeyXD

I'm with you with 12 Years A Slave (although I loved it and have seen it 3 times), usually it's hard for me to sit through movies like that. Although it's about slavery, there's a whooooole different underlying tone and execution that makes the film watchable for me. Maybe because I'm so interested in my culture and ancestry and maybe it's my love for film. But goddammit, 12 Years A Slave is powerful.

It's not bad.
It doesn't have the same magic that Foxx brought but it's pretty decent.

Not bad but Foxx owned this role. The shootout at Candieland is one of my favorite scenes in a movie ever.

You know Chris Tucker auditioned for this role... that's the embarrassingly bad video I'd pay to see.
