Over the years, Andy Park has been providing dazzling concept art for Marvel Studios films, such as The Avengers, Thor, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: The First Avenger. And today, Andy has unveiled his artistic contribution to Marvel's latest blockbuster, Thor: The Dark World. Below, you will find plenty of alternate character designs for Malekith the Accursed and his horde of Dark Elves from Svartalfheim. There's also artwork of a Kronan (rock creature), Volstagg the Voluminous and Malekith's loyal lieutenant Algrim (Kurse). You can see more of Andy Park's artwork at his facebook page, and you can also keep updated by following his twitter account.

Concept Art by Andy Park

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD was directed by Alan Taylor ("Game of Thrones") and will be coming to DVD soon. Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Rene Russo, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Zachary Levi, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, Kat Dennings, Christopher Eccleston, and Idris Elba.

Never a bad thing having one of the concept artists behind God Of War working on your movie....

All of the villains in this movie were a let down. The only person who had the most thrill was Loki and it want even his movie...smh I still enjoyed the movie. There's no doubt at all about that, but I just feel that Marvel has been watering down their villains for the GA lately. Yeah we already get it, Loki's a bada** but there's other great villains to choose from as being the spotlight in these films. I know for sure Cap 2 won't disappoint but hopefully Thor 3 is SOLIDLY focused in Asgard. 80% Asgard and 20% earth is all I ask for.

PLEASE! Or 90% Asgard and 10% earth. I mean for Odin's sake you already have the entire Ultron gig going down on Earth. Just give earth a break and focus on Thor's natural setting.

Amazing stuff....it's a rare case when we see the movie looks more authentic than it's concept arts ...movies like 300 and man of steel

TheBlackNerd you are right bro ...all I ask is 50% asgard ,50% other realms go further no more darcy shit ...thor movies could be great , lotr scale but instead we get average movies

Those designs are way better than the ones they used for the movie. The dark elves where meh as villains.

Those dark elves designs are breathtaking. They should have been used to make the elves look more dark and menacing. This Malekith looks evil/Mal

I thought the Dark Elves [frick]ing sucked in the movie. These designs for Malekith look way better.

"thor movies could be great , lotr scale but instead we get average movies"
100% right. Don't get me wrong I re-watched T:TDW online the other day. I mean I liked it and thought it was OK, but it felt so half-assed and really felt like it could have been a lot more. Thor is still under-powered, final fight was pretty bad (tumbling through portals), and just a lot of other things about this movie were off.

@TheBlackNerd
Yeah depending on how A:AOU ends, the movie should open with Thor on Earth (for like 10 minutes) and returning to Asgard.

These are amazing... damn. Wonder why they used the one they used in the movie after seeing some of these.
NeoBaggins

In some cases, a close comic translation may not fit in the environment created. But in this case, Asgard is established and ready to receive all of its weird and extreme beings. Using the design that looks like comic Malekith is a no-brainer. *shrugs* I don't get it.
