NBC's HEROES Coming Back To Television As 13-Episode Miniseries Event

This news is hot off the presses. NBC has announced that Heroes will return for a 13-episode miniseries event in 2015. Details are scarce but what we do know is that creator Tim Kring is back and it will be titled: Heroes Reborn. Come share your thoughts.

Apparently during NBC's broadcast of the Winter Olympics there was a teaser for this Heroes Reborn mini-series event. Yeah, I didn't see it either. Anyway, NBC just officially announced the event and are holding back all the juicy details, such as the plot and which characters are or are not returning.
“The enormous impact Heroes had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening,” said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke. “Shows with that kind of resonance don’t come around often and we thought it was time for another installment. We’re thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept. Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won’t rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in.”

The original series ran for four seasons until it was cancelled in February of 2010. The show got off to a hot start when it premiered in 2006. It was a "must watch," and even had that great tagline, “Save the cheerleader, save the world.” Everyone thing was looking up for Tim Kring's series about everyday people suddenly realizing they had extraordinary powers. Then the 2007-2008 WGA writers' strike knocked the thunder right out of show and when it returned it's sizable fanbase had shriveled up. Not to mention the show's writing and plot lacked the focus that the first season had. Let's hope Kring has learned from his past mistakes and Heroes Reborn makes that quantum leap to set right what once went wrong.

Experience the suspense, mystery, and electrifying twists as this astonishing series follows seemingly unconnected, ordinary people around the globe who discover they have extraordinary powers. As they come to terms with their unique abilities, their risky decisions will affect the futures of everyone around them …and the world. Join their epic journey in this seven-disc set packed with hours of fascinating and revealing bonus features, including the never-before-aired series premiere from show creator Tim Kring.

CAST: Hayden Panettiere as Claire Bennet, Jack Coleman as Noah Bennet, Santiago Cabrera as Isaac Mendez, Tawny Cypress as Simone Deveaux, Greg Grunberg as Matt Parkman, Ali Larter as Niki Sanders, Leonard Roberts as D. L. Hawkins, Noah Gray-Cabey as Micah Sanders, Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura, Adrian Pasdar as Nathan Petrelli, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Mohinder Suresh and Milo Ventimiglia as Peter Petrelli

Never watched more than 20 minutes of this series... Heard first couple of seasons were decent but the reason it got canceled was because it sucked ass.

Yeah, Larter was an embarassment. They killed her off then brought her back as a different character because they felt sorry for her the first time around :P

This show started off as good, then went down hill with Season 2, and while it looked like Season 3 was going to get it back on track (first episode of S3 was cool), it never did.

The first season was good mainly because the used the gimmick of save the cheerleader, save the world. I don't think they had any issue of how they would tie the story and people together. Like all shoes that use a gimmick, it gets old. Remember Prison Break?

Heroes is awesome! Loved the show. The writer strike was what killed it.
