Halle Berry All But Cut From X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST?

According to an onset source for the New York Daily News, Halle Berry's (Ororo Munroe/Storm) X-Men: Days of Future Past screen time has been whittled down to one scene.

Disappointment, it is something that we've all experienced at some time from 20th Century Fox with their handling of the X-Men franchise. We have grown accustomed to getting our hopes up and then having them dashed. Earlier this year, we felt that familiar displeasure as word came down that True Blood actress Anna Paquin (Rogue) was cut from X-Men: Days of Future Past. Yes, there's still a small chance of Paquin being in the film because of some last minute reshoots, but we can't bank on that. And now, New York Daily News reports that Halle Berry's ("Catwoman") screen time has been reduced to merely one scene in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Meanwhile, on the work front, a source who was on the set of “X Men: Days of Future Past,” tells us Berry, who plays Storm, was cut out of every scene but one in post-production. - New York Daily News

When X-Men: Days of Future Past was announced, we learned of Bryan Singer's ambitious plans to include actors from his original X-Men timeline and actors from the X-Men: First Class timeline. This info had fans eagerly anticipating Halle Berry's return to the role of Storm. She hadn't played the white-haired mutant that can control the weather since Brett Ratner's X-Men: The Last Stand. Producers did bring her back into the fold, but the film's shooting schedule conflicted with the child that was growing inside her womb. She was pregnant with her second child from fiance Olivier Martinez. By the time cameras started to roll Berry already had a prominent bump. In several interviews, she mentioned that her pregnancy did limit her involvement, she stated, "Storm probably won't be as badass as she was going to be because we won't be able to do any fighting or flying or things like that." A small role, yes, but she still believed her part was integral. Oscar-winning actress said, "There's something very revealing and shocking about Storm in this movie that I thought was needed." If New York Daily News is right, and Halle Berry's part has been diminished to just one scene, it seems safe to assume we'll never know what Storm's "shocking" revelation was.

Update: A source for SHH disagrees: "Good gossip that is sure to bring some traffic to your site, except that it isn't true. SHH has spoken to a very trusty source of the site, who says there is no truth to what the NY Daily News is claiming." Which source is right? Don't know. We'll find out this May.

Thanks to Wyleejay for the heads up.

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The cast includes: Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Daniel Cudmore, Booboo Stewart, Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing, Evan Jonigkeit, Adan Canto and Josh Helman, X-Men: Days Of Future Past hits UK cinemas on May 22 and US cinemas the following day.

Like, they're cutting characters and saying that they only appeared in short scenes anyway, but promoting the sh*t out of Quicksilver who they seem OK with publicly announcing he's only in a short scene?

Whats really weird.....is that I came across this in the morning on my way to work. Its been the most part of a whole day not being able to find that much info. Rumors usually spread like wild fire. So why didn't this one? Guess now that it may spread we can expect a response from the studio soon.

I didn't expect much Storm anyway. Maybe 2-4 scenes. The filmmakers have said it mostly is in the 70's, with some in the 2020's. So honestly, this doesn't bug me to the extreme.

Remember how important Storm was to the future storyline in the Days of Future Past comic? Yeah neither do I. Her character was necessary for the past segments but the future segments, she was just there to be harpooned. Her standout scene was that she took out a sentinel which I hope they don't put into the film because that will really undermine the sentinels power. Really if she only has a scene or two, no big deal.

Movie must have sucked so bad that the executives decided to save it by removing pointless scenes.

They might be trying to save the sinking ship. Firing Fantastic Four director, Writer (same writer for Days of Future Past) and cast

Just my opinion on the matter.

Great news if true. Halle Berry has been an awful version of Storm. Storm is in the comics pretty much an African goddess but in the movies she is just there and does little else.

So a character that was a huge headline resigning to play a popular character just was possibly cut and fans have no right to say anything according to you?
