We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp...

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

@Ezio Without spoiling, IMO it was great. It drags at times and becomes a little convoluted but the action, acting, and chemistry all makes up for it. The comedy is pretty bad but it's tolerable. You never really have to take this movie seriously until the third act, that's when things start to heat up. & the last 30 minutes are really amazing and powerful. Rhino was really cool but Paul Giamatti really over-acted. But again, it's tolerable. 8/10 for me.

Here's what I'll say about this movie, I saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fun and entertaining with some great action and good acting in parts.

What's funny is that literally everything that everyone is saying about this movie (both good and bad) is correct, it's just one of those movies that you'll probably end up both loving and hating. At some point I stopped expecting every CBM to have a perfect balance of acting, plot, and action. Sometimes you'll have films like MOS or Wolverine where the narrative completely takes over the film (for better or worse) and sometimes you'll have a film like this, full of cliche stuff and plot holes. I just learned to love them all for what they are I guess...

ASM2 was better than expected; Electro was cool, but a little under used (and yes that one line sucked)
The good stuff in this movie, I thought, was really good. Def better than the last two Spidey movies.

To be honest, I think that the Goblin scene was well done and put together. Not that it was just some random scene, but in a sense it worked. However, the "Harry is dead" cliche really killed it for me. But all in all I loved Goblin.

Seriously tho, all kicking TASM2 while its down aside, should I spring for 3D? I'm kinda partial to the films that were actually shot in the format.

I don't mind the childish writing because I think the movie is aimed for children.

If you cut some action scenes into an episode of Dawsons Creek you have Spider-Man 2

I just saw it and as a huge marvel and even bigger spidey fan feel this is the best spiderman movie we have had overall. I find people unfortunately critique movies so much or harshly it prevents them from really enjoying anything. People nit pick about things like oh that's not logical when we are not only talking about a comic book movie full of illogical things but the comics themselves are not always logical.

If you have not seen it and your a huge spidey fan go see it!
