Second Trailer For THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN LIVES: WHAT HAPPENED?

A new full-length trailer for Jon Schnepp's documentary on Tim Burton's now infamous attempt to bring the Man of Steel to the screen (with Nicholas Cage in the title role) has been released. See some new interview snippets, BTS footage and concept art after the jump.

By all accounts Schnepp has almost completed production on the documentary, and is close to getting together the final funds needed to complete it. There's no doubt that this would make for an interesting watch -- even if the very least it did was serve as a cautionary tale. But you never know what else fans could come away from this doc with, as there's no doubting the passion that those involved with the doomed Superman Lives displayed. Will you be checking this out? I don't think cool concept art automatically means they were going to make a cool movie. It will always remain a 'what if.'

DC/WB should turn this into a animated film (the actual movie not the documentary). At least that way people get to see it and not just reminiscing about what it could have been.

Forget what the box office numbers say, (and I have no idea what they are) but no comic book movie has been as big as batman. That was more than a movie, it was a movement. Kevin Smith is not lying. you couldn't go anywhere without seeing the batman insignia. And I'm not just talking about kids, I'm talking grown ass adults. Hair cuts, clothing lines (not specific articles of clothing, but entire clothing lines) jewelry, everything. That was definitely a crazy summer. you really had to have been around then to fully grasp it.

Fark this crap... If I was to donate any money, it would be to see the movie itself, not the eulogy of it! It couldn't be any worse than Singer's "vision".

Nicolas Cage: Actor/Legend.

I mean, I love Nic Cage, don't get me wrong.
But legend in what?

Christopher Reeve
Ayrton Senna
John Lennon

They're not legends either, but I wouldn't question it if you put "legend" along with those names. But Nic Cage?

It's not. I'd like to see it, too.
I was a bit shaken when it was first announced/rumored, but I trusted Tim Burton. As I trusted him when people were going crazy over his choice of Keaton as Batman. He didn't let me down then.

People would think it might not be the best Superman rendition and Tim Burton might not be the best choice for a director, seeing his "dark fantasy" vision on his movies, but let's look back at some of Zack Snyder's movies for a while now...

- Watchmen
- 300
- Suckerpunch

I'd say these two are more or less alike. And although MOS got mixed reaction from fans, still it got smashing box office to deemed it a successful film. So, yeah, I'd like to see Tim Burton's take on Superman. Too bad it didn't happen.

Ill tell you what happened, this movie was shit! Brainiac looks cool, Superman played by Nic Cage? SHIT! He doesn't look like Superman at all, Doomsday looks horrible, this film looked like a shit show mess! Henry Cavill IS Superman and Snyders Superman is the best to date (Modern times) Heres hoping the sequel fully develops Superman withing the time since Man of Steel making him the hero he truly is (Since in Man of Steel he was literally Superman for like 2 days)
